I've never read that Asian migration results in the loss of control over significant portions of our southern border, a constant stream of drugs coming into the U.S., and other aspects that make the Mexican situation so compelling. Maybe if we bordered China or some such situation, then we'd see some similar dynamics. I await the day the wife and I can make a trip to southern Arizona and not have to worry about our safety, where we are when dusk approaches, etc.

From what I read about her father was that he worked at a munitions plant in Az during WWII. Then died 10 years later from lung cancer. Brewer beleives the fumes/dust from the plant brought on the cancer. Knowing now what we know about mesothelioma or black lung, it's not entirely impossible. Regardless, her comment was in reply to someone labeling her 'Hitler's Daughter'. She was offended that anyone would compare her father, who fought the Nazi's on the home front making munitions, to the head Nazi. True, he did not literally die fighting the Nazis. But her outrage is more understandable than the outrage most of you show when I label Obama a socialist, which he is.

Your acceptance that he is a socialist would be more beleivable if you would have left Reagan and religion out of it. The fact that he joined the New Party in '96 still doesn't convince you he is a socialist? Or that his mentor, Frank Marshall Davis, was a member of the Communist Party?

I do feel somewhat relieved that since you still deny he is a socialist, that somehow you agree that being a socialist and president is bad for the country.

He's not a socialist and Sweden isn't a socialist country. The fact that you've been sucked into the GOP "socialist" spin cycle is mildly humorous at best.

Sweden? How about France? Is France a socialist country? They just elected a socialist as president,....AGAIN!! Or is that just GOP spin? Maybe you're going to tell me the French Socialist Party is more akin to the Cheyenne Social Club than the Socialist International.

Before or after the 20 years or so in front of Jeremiah Wright in the Trinity United Church of Christ?
Before or after he met Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dorhn?
Before or after he appointed Van Jones the Green Jobs Czar?

Is that really your full list of evidence that he's a socialist? That's actually quite zero compared to what he could accomplish as the most powerful person in the world.

Frankly I have wondered and as the study alludes to...if the real damage was done under the GOP over the last decade. We heard very little about this until there was a change in the white house...and though the symptoms may continue, the underlying cause seems to be far better addressed:

"With net migration from Mexico now at zero, the role of Asian-Americans has become more important," he said.

The Pew analysis, released Tuesday, said the tipping point for Asian immigrants likely occurred during 2009 as illegal immigrants crossing the border from Mexico sharply declined due to increased immigration enforcement and a dwindling supply of low-wage work in the weak U.S. economy.

It's been an issue for quite a few years and was a high profile issue when Bush was in office also. It didn't appear from nowhere in 2009. But, Obama has been even worse than Bush was on border issues, only begrudgingly giving a little ground after much armtwisting (at least when it comes to securing the border), so no surprise that it continues to get headlines. But I can understand that you might notice it more now, as it's Obama being complained about, rather than Bush.

No, not at all. These are just some of the major 'radicals' our President has associated with during his life. The list of socialists is much longer. Starting with his mother and grandparents as a child, and continuing on through to Delores Huerta, whom the President just recently awarded the Medal of Freedom. Then of course there are the policies and actions that he has taken that further indicate he is a socialist.

No. I don't think it does illustrate your point at all. I think you wanted to show that I don't know what the definition of socialism is. But finding the website of an organization dedicated to socialism clearly proves I'm on the right track.

Or that you know who to defer to. You might as well copy and paste it from Webster's. Neither of which tells me what you really think about it.
