And yet with all these supposed associations, the most powerful man in the world chose to champion...lets see...zero socialist policies?

I don't like his wealth redistribution ideas, but that seems to be most of the left side of the Democratic party.

I don't like government by decree. Congress passes the laws and the Executive enforces it. The issuing of Executive Orders as legislation bothers me.

I think he's over his head. When he was elected I said something to the effect of "having is not the same as wanting." I think BHO is realizing that being President is HARD.

I don't disagree. But you make it seem that for Obama this is obvious...and for the GOP, nada.

The easiest comparison is with Bush as he's been the only GOP president for decades. Did Bush's behaviors seem like being president was easy? Did it seem like he played the role of hanging back and letting the legislature do its thing? I remember quite a bit of bull in the china shop.

And regarding executive orders...its not like Obama's administration has been full of 'em. But during the debates, I think almost every single GOP candidate claimed they had several executive orders ready in repealing recent policy to go day one. Obama may have done it...the GOP is wearing executive orders as a badge of honor.

So if you're reason for disliking Obama is as you say...then you've got somewhere between comparable and far worse in the GOP.

This is why talk radio is still in business. Just when you think that everybody knows that the laugh lines people scream on air are just to stir the pot, along comes a reminder that there are millions of people who are actually taken in.

PRI takes back power in Mexico. For the folks who really follow this stuff closely (Bob), does the party change make any difference to Mexican emigration policy?

I'm not sure it's going to change a lot on the emigration front. The bigger question is what changes this may lead to regarding the war on drugs. During Nieto's campaign he talked about reducing voilence in Mexico. People have taken this various ways, including possibly trying to tone down the army's pursuit of drug cartels. So, to me that's the area to watch for change.

Certainly don't agree with their position, but Newsday, etc hits pure gold every time they find a story like this. Its just chum in the water. :)

It's a simple question. You said that you disagreed with the premise that someone who is in this country illegally should not be called "illegal" or "criminal". I will ask again. When is someone committing a crime not illegal?
