If your best players hadn't gone pro, would your team beat BC?

Re: If your best players hadn't gone pro, would your team beat BC?

I realize you are an abortion at math, but you didn't lose 20 players before their junior year in any 3 year period. Are you a liar or just unable to count?

I envy that Bostonian's math skills.
With the legendary Math skills that Wisconsin has, how could anyone envy a Bostonian!? There is no math tradition like Wisconsin! Everyone else is just copying them!!!!

Re: If your best players hadn't gone pro, would your team beat BC?

York 913 wins

Gopher coaches

Lucia 318 99-00 to present
Guentzel 1 1996
Woog 389 1985-86-1998-99
Buetow 171 1979-80-1984-85

874 wins

Problem is you're only counting Minnesota coaches wins they had with the Gophers and you're counting York's wins with Clarkson, Bowling Green and BC.

All I meant by envy was the success. I thought that was obvious...

You're about to admit Dubbs may have a good point somewhere in there because that's exactly what several people read. I know that's how I read it.

Exactly. A fairer way to look at it is that York has 446 wins at BC (from the 1994-1995 season to present). In that same time frame, Minnesota has 433. North Dakota (split between Blais and Hakstol) has 475 :). (Michigan has 516  all under Berenson)

If Dubbie made a good point, it was purely coincidental as I'm sure he meant the opposite of whatever he inferred.

hopefully you put more thought into your 40th post as compared to your 39th...

On ice accomplishments you should absolutely enjoy. But I'm sorry, not something worthy of much respect considering the fact you sacrificed the opportunity to build your own traditions to get them. Unless of course if you consider ripping everything about your program off from others as a "tradition". In which case, UND has a great deal of that.

If you are basing the totality of a team/schools tradition on their nickname, logo and goal song, you are somehow even more of an idiot than I thought.

Re: If your best players hadn't gone pro, would your team beat BC?

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!

You call losing Juniors and Seniors a problem?? Really??? Try losing 20 or so players before their junior year (many one and dones and Okposo mid-season) ina 3-year time frame.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!

Minnesota lost 20 players before their junior year in any one stretch? Do they have 80 kids on the roster or are you counting Okposo 17 times?

Be honest, you think of Okposo when you delight yourself in the shower, don't ya.

In the 91+ year history of the Gophers there have been THREE Wisconsinites and THREE North Dakotans to be privlidged enough to wear the Maroon "M". How many Minnesotans have played for the lesser programs to Minnesota's East and West?

So who was the a-hole who let the Wisconsinites and North Dakotans on the team? Didn't they realize the tradition they were destroying? It's quite a shame that the Gophers are now just like all the other teams that recruit players from outside of state lines.

Re: If your best players hadn't gone pro, would your team beat BC?

Why do you count all of York's wins, but refuse to count all of Lucia's?

And all of Buetow's (he coached at CC and American International after UMN)

I don't think that Guentzel was ever officially the head coach either, not sure that he should count as a coach.

York was first a HC in 1972-1973, same year Brooks took over at MN. That would be the comparison, UMN from 1972-2012 vs York from 1972-2012.

Not only that, but you forgot Europeans Vanek and Haula. Also, Canadians like Chucko.

Wasn't one of Minnie's all-time best collegians, Potulny, from North Dakota?

I don't know if comparing one school's 40 year stretch to York's 40 year stretch across three different schools really proves anything either...

Re: If your best players hadn't gone pro, would your team beat BC?

It's kind of fun when JDUBBS is on your ignore list. You see the post with nothing, then you get to guess what stupid crap he's saying now. You'd be surprised how often you guess correctly by assuming that he's saying something about how people don't have enough respect for the gophers because they "only" recruit in state or some such bull****.
