If I remember correctly, I believe his son rode our school bus for about a year when I was in 1st grade ('80-81 or so).

Beano Cook, 81, died in his sleep Thursday, ESPN colleague and podcast partner Ivan Maisel has revealed. Cook, who joined ESPN in 1986 after working commentary for Pitt and the Dolphins, was known for his ability to conjure endless trivia about classic college football matchups and has long been one of the most widely popular national college football analysts.

Perhaps best known for propounding the theory that one bullet struck both JFK and Governor Connelly. Conspiracists refer to it as the "magic" bullet and claim it was "pristine." It was neither.
