i am going to make so much money scalping my frozen four tickets in two weeks!!

Re: i am going to make so much money scalping my frozen four tickets in two weeks!!

Lower bowl tickets on stubhub for both days are still listed at $275+ Check the tickets thread on this site for tickets at face value.

Well I m one who is happy to see a foursome that does not include BC, Michigan, North Dakota, Michigan or any other regular participant. Frankly I get tired of seeing the same teams every year.

Thank you! Nice to see at least one person who thinks that way. If hockey is ever going to keep expanding, they need different teams to have chance to reach the FF. Having the same teams each year does nothing to help improve the sport, especially if you're a fan of one of the other schools.

I agree with both of you.

Howdy HockeyMan.

I think that these comments about the lack of the "power" teams is pretty funny since most everyone agrees that this tournament is ripe for upsets from the beginning!!!! Lets see first you have the last team in still in and the #1 still in it and the Eastern tourney winner still in and a stout western program!!!! Seems like a balance of "power" and an entertaining change of pace!!!! My guess is the people complaining are BC Mn or Mich fans!!!!! I for one am glad it's a nice change!!!!

Re: i am going to make so much money scalping my frozen four tickets in two weeks!!

Careful there. If you use up all your exclamation points you won't have any left in two weeks for the games.

Re: i am going to make so much money scalping my frozen four tickets in two weeks!!

And looking almost of the tickets for sale on this site they have good reasons to sell and most have been for sale for several months!!!!! Your lack of viewership theories are obviously biased!!!!!

I don’t see anyone complaining about the teams that will be there, at least in this thread (except in the sense that the lack of a marquee team might hurt them financially when they try to scalp the tickets). I see some folks predicting that attendance might not be very good. There’s a big difference between the two.

I, for one, am happy to see some teams other than “the usual suspects” make it, for reasons already stated. But I also think that attendance may not be very good, for reasons already stated. The two sentiments/predictions are not mutually exclusive.

Re: i am going to make so much money scalping my frozen four tickets in two weeks!!

The 4 teams are ranked #1, #3, #9 and #15 in the latest rankings. How can anybody complain about that?

If people don't show up it is because they want to see the same old teams over and over again and don't care about seeing the best teams from that season. Personally, I want to see the best matchups possible even if it doesn't include teams from the good old boy network.

Re: i am going to make so much money scalping my frozen four tickets in two weeks!!

The scalpers are doing just fine. Just yesterday 4 seats in row L of 117 went for $345 each over on StubHub. The day before there were six sales of lower end seats from rows N-Z for as high as $375 each. The secondary market for lower bowl seats seems to be just fine. My guess is a bunch of people are following their team to the FF for the first time and they aren't being scared away by prices.

I certainly respect your viewpoint Freds as you know, so it's just a matter of personal interest. BTW in response to some of the comments here, I'm not "complaining about the field," or feel it ought to be filled with four teams from the "good ol boy network" -- I'm just saying, I can understand why some fans without a dog in the fight might choose not to go. Personally, I'd rather see a mix of "unknown commodities" taking on a couple of "established programs" (or just one even), just as an objective viewer. That's just me. It's like having Wichita St. in the Final Four IS good for the game. Having the entire Final Four being comprised of Wichita St., Florida Gulf Coast, etc., and having them play one another instead of an established program where they can pull a big upset? While it would be great for all of those programs, I'm not so sure that would really get the majority of people excited, especially if you're paying a large sum of money on travel and lodging.

Maybe we'll be seeing fabulous games we'll be talking about for years on end -- I hope so -- but I can understand why folks would move their tickets if they're not a follower of one of those teams involved. For those who are excited about it and are going, enjoy it -- hope you get a good one :)

Eh, that or some Yale alumni is doing a Pittsburgh homeless outreach deal. They're buying up tickets so that they can pack the arena. The deal is the homeless wear Yale colors and cheer for Yale so that then they win the Championship, the Yale alumni will have something they can throw into the face of all of their Ivy League friends, and the homeless of Pittsburgh will get a tshirt and a bowl of soup. ;)

And they may also believe it will be their last opportunity to follow their team to the FF. Especially given that with no dominant opponent, their team has a decent chance of winning.

Also, they may think that dealing with an established entity like StubHub is safer than dealing with an email address.

Interesting since on the USCHO ticket forum there appears to be very little action. Maybe the people going to StubHub aren't aware of this site. Either way, if I had extra tickets to this FF I would be concerned.

Prices are crashing as people realize the FF is less than a week away. The market was flooded last night with cheap tickets (as low as $100) so anyone who had tickets priced high got screwed. Someone is selling 8 tickets to a suite (just tickets, no food) and their price dropped from $450 yesterday to $375 today.

Re: i am going to make so much money scalping my frozen four tickets in two weeks!!

Upper bowl seats have sold for as little as $50 but the cheapest available currently are $74. Lower bowl seats are now $95 but the lowest they have sold is $139 yesterday. The only sale today in the lower bowl is a pair of seats in the front row of 108 went for $265 earlier. The suite dropped again, down to $325.
