Please...don't remind me...it's the first time in a LONG time that I hope a player leaves college early...these past 2 years have killed me...he gets some calls against him that he doesn't deserve (just b/c of his size) but this weekend, I think he deserved all 7 penalties that were called on him (6 minors and one 10 min misconduct). He frustrates us so much!!!

Connecticut is the one team in that AHA quarterfinal which has little chance of advancing. The other 7 teams were within 5 points of each other and most of them played more games against the stronger western pod. I just can't see Connecticut getting two wins over Air Force and then beating two other higher ranked teams, so playing UConn is highly unlikely. The others are much better than most of you think.

I look forward to verbally abusing the UMass morons near my section that show up at Conte again this year. What an embarrassing bunch of dopes that came to Conte last year. Word of advice for those folks, wear your "UMass intramurals" tshirts and cheer for your team rather than making fools out of yourselves.

Which is why I asked if they are on break or not. Hopefully they are placed as far away from my section as possible.

UMass team doesn't get much "ink", but there were a couple of players I thought were impressive:

TJ Syner. Very quick and going all the time. If he played on any of the more followed teams, you'd read alot more about him.

Quitely impressive season.

If Mastalerz channels Chris Terreri/Jimmy Howard, BC could get tested, but the Eagles are running on all cylinders right now. Eagles sweep, although they have to work for it.

For future reference, Google is your friend, and a lot more efficient for getting answers to questions like "Is UMass on break this week" than posting on USCHO.

UMass is a lot different than BC. I was a grad student at BC and use to teach undergrad classes. Out of curiosity, I'd ask where everyone was from. Out of 50, I'd get maybe 1 or 2 from Massachusetts. Of course, that's anything but a random sample, and I only taught 7 classes in two and a half years, but in my experience, BC students weren't from here.

On the other hand, UMass has a higher percent of Eastern Massachusetts residents. It's not that hard to go home to Eastern Massachusetts for the weekend, regardless of whether you are on Spring Break. I think UMass fans will be there.

Personally, I'm missing game 1. I'll be there for game 2 and game 3 (if necessary).

Relax, UMass students have a reputation and it is well earned.

As for your stats on where students are from, more than a quarter of BC students are from Mass. For future reference, Google is your friend and a lot more efficient for getting answers to assumptions like "where BC students are from" than tiny sample sizes.

Edit: And you're surprised that a state school that has more than double the undergraduate enrollment has more people from said state?

Well, accroding to the kid it's official-- Colin White of Nobles commited to BC. Has anyone here seen him play?

It's nice they are getting some of the best local players (albeit on the young side), i.e. Noah Hanifan, Casey Fitzgerald, Colin White, Chris Calnan, etc.

you can bet Jerry will use this as a tool for motivation tonight, not that it is necessary. UMass smoked us last time out and allowed us 6 goals total in the 3 games..............

I'm not surprised at all. Just pointing out whether or not UMass is on Spring Break has little to do with how many UMass students will be there.

Maybe next time you can ask the BC students if they're from eastern Mass when you conduct your little census.

Anyway I'm done with this retarded argument. I'll stand by my point that I hope they don't put the UMass students, however many show up, near me.

Walk in show the headline of UMLOL losing to PC. Be done with this series Saturday at 9:20

As for attendance, 7884 with the influx of local UMass students.

I don't think there will be a next time. I graduated and teach at a different college now. I have no plans to go back to BC at this time. Not that it wasn't fun to teach there and study, but for the foreseeable future I see myself sticking where I am.

Also, I didn't realize we were arguing. I'm glad it's over though.

Have fun tonight. Maybe I'll see you tomorrow and perhaps Sunday.

They played well enough to win and got a break on the UMass goal that was ruled kicked in. BC got the lead first and hung on in the end. BC could have had an ENG but the ref got in the way along the board. Let's knock UMass out of the TUC tomorrow night and be done with them.

there's no way the word "well" can be in any description of how they played aside from Milner and Gaudreau. I'm trying to remember a game that they won playing worse than tonight, no matter the opponent. Kudos to Toots , he figured something out apparently. They were all over us. Not sure if we ever had a shot from the point all night and U Mass had no penalties and it wasn't a fluke. The only questionable call/noncall was with 3 or so left where Gaudreau was mauled.................. he was responsible for both goals IMO
