Hockey East: Anyones Tournament

Re: Hockey East: Anyones Tournament

But previous post season success DOES NOT GUARANTEE success this season.

Who guaranteed that BC will have postseason success this year? The point is they're more likely to succeed than not because of the history under the current coach.

Re: Hockey East: Anyones Tournament

You are absolutely right, I need a class in spelling and actually giving a crap when posting in a forum such as this. Of course that has little to do with the some of the other posters needing remedial reading class. See they are two separate points.

a.) Nick P needs to learn how to read
b.) jcarter needs to pay more attention to his spelling.

Can you teach us about haiku again?

Oh dear Lord, Owlboy still doesn't get it....

Re: Hockey East: Anyones Tournament

You guys still can't get it after I have explained it over and over.

York is a great coach and certainly their post season success has to do with that. But previous post season success DOES NOT GUARANTEE success this season.

There is no guarantee of success, that is true. However, a team that has historically done well in the post season...especially in more recent post seasons...is probably going to do well in the current post season.

Obviously this is not always true. BU had a great post season last year, won it all, but has been below average for most of this year. However, there were some pretty big factors showing that they would be worse. So while post season success alone can not determine how a team will do, it can be a good guide based on other information like how good the coach is and how many players are returning from the previous season.

No one, but your buddy Nick P. would like to make it seem that way....

Ahahahahahahah. Sure thing Mr. Reading Comprehension. It's funny because you seemed to be the one trying to convince everyone UVM would beat BC because of the regular season results and the last 5 games vs. BC going back to last year (talk about irrelevant statistics).

I'm glad you just waved the white flag with that comment with nothing left to go with. Now we can all walk away from the conversation (or elephant walk if you're a UVM fan).

I know polls mean nothing, but here was the HE preseason poll:

1. Boston University (6) 84
2. UMass Lowell (2) 79
3. Boston College (2) 76
4. New Hampshire 59
Vermont 59
6. Northeastern 57
7. Massachusetts 47
8. Maine 32
9. Providence 24
10. Merrimack 23

So by one spot lower you mean from 2nd to 5th? Nice math.

So you can't differentiate between standings in the conference and the way the seedings are done for the tournament.

I see jcarter vs the world is showing again on USCHO!

God bless, I'm always afraid one day he'll figure out he's an idiot and go away, and then what would we do to entertain ourselves? Hokydad only appears so often...
