Hockey East: Anyones Tournament

Re: Hockey East: Anyones Tournament

why do people have such a hard time with hockydad? he knows what he is talking about, he is very far from "a casual fan" of college hockey, and in my opinion, his biggest mistake is coming here and trying to share some of what he knows with people who are just too closed minded to believe that they do not already know it all.

I have no problem with his opinions. It's his "politics" and agenda that get in the way in certain cases. He also has a knack for claiming to know what's going internally with certain programs (family advisers as an example). When called out on it, he provides no evidence worthy of believing him.

well, he IS connected with the family advisors and scouts... so why would you not believe him?

I too know some family advisors and while I am happy to share some general comments I have been told, I will not name names, nor will I give specifics.

I have never noticed his politics/agenda, maybe I just ignore them, and take whatever wisdom he offers WHEN HE OFFERS wisdom.

Although I have no doubt he knows some family advisers, scouts, etc., he has said some things that I know for a fact aren't true and others that have turned out to not be true. I'm sure a lot of what he says is true, but after seeing him post some stuff that is downright false, I'll continue to take everything he says with a grain of salt.

I just hope nobody tries to win on an illegal goal in the championship game like last year.  :D

...Whoa... what was that?? A Merrimack fan?

...No...

Re: Hockey East: Anyones Tournament

Yes it was. And both of you are racist. Stop talking about,a goal that doesn't matter anymore. We all know that Parker was on his knees with the refs before the game to get a call like that. And blaise was too drunk to make a coherent argument...:P:)

Past performance is quantifiable, via wins and losses (and, if we're talking RS, ties). I don't see how that's not a stat. Most stats are non-predictive; they tell you how a player/team has played to this point, but they don't tell you how they'll play tonight.

From INCH's notebook regarding the HE tourney :

"And don’t count out the surging Northeastern Huskies and"

Huh?? Apparently Jeff Howe is a NU fan??

Past perfomance tells you how an entirely different team played against entirely different competition. It says zero about the current team, with the exception of the coaching staff.

Listen I'm not saying it means nothing because it does show the ability of the coaching staff to prepare a team for the post season. I was only saying that it really is a good indication, at least GAA or GPG is indicative of the current players against the current teams. Little Nicky would like the NC handed to BC every year because of past success........I only made the point that past success doesn't translate into future success.

This turned into a huge freaking deal with everyone taking little snippets and referring to them out of context with out reading the entire thread. Don't get me wrong I don't expect anything more on this forum, but man, one little point got blown into 4-5 pages of flaming.

I am lost as to how this one little point has become so hard to grasp. But yes I am saying the exact same thing you are "but they don't tell you how they'll play tonight."

Re: Hockey East: Anyones Tournament

Interesting Hendrickson is picking all sweeps.

That ensures there will be an upset of some kind:)
