As a Maine fan I have no dog in this fight, but the puck was in the net plain and simple so it was the right call. Looked at it several times and you could see the puck behind the red line on 2 angles. Had a similar thing happen last year in the semi-finals at the Boston Garden last year and the officials took over 15 minutes before ruling a goal for BU. As it turns out it was the right call but too long to review. However on a game winner I understand why they took their time.

UNO players and fans have a lot to be proud of after this year. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised to see Mean Dean on the ice before the next game protesting the allowed goal! Still scary at 70.

I have no dog in the fight either, aside from the healthy hatred of Michigan that all red-blooded Americans share. And you, sir, are on drugs. Nothing, absolutely nothing showed that puck completely over the goal line.

You must have had an angle nobody else saw then, because after sitting through 10 minutes of replays there wasn't one that showed it being over the line. It was a terrible call plain and simple. There's no "maybe" and "likely" -- it's either in or it isn't. I don't have a "dog in the fight", I just wanted to see a fair ending to the game and did not get one.

Angle at the far end showed the puck across the line. Above the net angle when you stopped it also showed goalie kicking it out from behind the red line. Have high def but did not need it, and I am no UM fan. Maybe plain and simple was overstated, but thought the right call was made. Sorry!

Thank you! That's what I've been saying for over an hour now but there are a few WCHA dolts (not fans of uno mind you) who think that it was a bogus call. Could you go over to The West Region thread and tell them what's up?

As I said in the regional thread: there are a lot of times when a referee must make assumptions in order to get the correct call.

A goal review in overtime of an NCAA tournament game is NOT one of those times.

Did you have a TV replay we didn't have back East? Watched on ESPN U the numerous replays shown and although one could "guess" or "assume" the puck might have been across the line.......one could not "conclusively see" where the puck was. The puck was not visible on any angle on the replays other than when it was shown not being across the line. The call on the ice is supposed to stand unless the replay shows CONCLUSIVE evidence. The replay never showed the puck. Bad call, plain and simple. UNO got screwed

I watched the game on espn3 and I saw the shot of the puck across the line from the down ice view. True, I might be a little biased but I was trying to talk myself into a no-goal resolution so I wouldn't be depressed but I couldn't.

The espn3 website has the replay of the entire game still available. After watching the view from down the ice it looks in to me. Suck it up guys. Great season. This was one of the better games we ever played against Michigan. If Matt Ambroz wouldn't have pulled that act of absolute stupidity we would have won it.

My 8 year old son (UNO fan) admitted it was a goal based on the angle...that must be indisputable and conclusive evidence.

Coming from this Michigan fan, i feel your pain UNO fans. I was in Ft. Wayne last year, and felt like i had personally been robbed. I watched the same reviews everybody else did. I personally think it was clearly a goal, but i also never saw a replay that clearly showed it in the net, so I would not have called it a goal. Can you imagine if UNO had scored on that next rush down the ice, before the play was finally officially whistled dead? That would have been a replay for the ages. Congrats on a good season and best of luck going forward.
