Re: He's dead, Jim.

Zim was the ultimate baseball lifer. He survived a nearly fatal beaning in '54 and spent another six decades in the game he loved. Cubs fans will always remember him fondly. Thanks, Don.

So will Red Sox fans. At least this one will.

There's a sportswriter who tweets as Obnoxious Boston Fan - he's based out of Florida but he's from my hometown and I grew up with him - he has a blog on Boston.com. Anyway...he tweeted that he didn't know who would remember the days when the Sports Huddle - local classic sports talk show - referred to him as Chiang Kai Shek. They didn't want to refer to him by name. Ah, those were the days. RIP Zip Zimmer.

Maybe the Sox will win one for the Zimmer tonight.

Re: He's dead, Jim.

He was the last Brooklyn Dodger (and last original Met, if I'm not mistaken) still in uniform and married his high school sweetheart at home plate before playing in a game for the Elmira Pioneers in 1951. RIP, Zim.

Re: He's dead, Jim.

First thought: hope he's OK.

Second thought: man is that guy not funny.

He was hilarious in his bit role in "Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back."

Casey Kasem is another one to keep your eye on.

And Zsa Zsa lives on.

Re: He's dead, Jim.

Tracy Morgan has moments where he really sucks. Then he'll have moments where he is hilarious. I like the guy, because he doesn't annoy me ALL of the time.
