Re: He's dead, Jim.

Saturday Night Live with a perfect tribute clip to Jan Hooks tonight.

I remembered seeing this when it ran late in an SNL episode in the late 80s. IIRC it was the entire segment between two commercial breaks, so it just stood there, completely straight and sincere. I couldn't believe how beautiful it was.

Rita Shane

Wonderful coloratura soprano and teacher.

Edit: This is probably the best-enunciated Queen I've ever heard. and it's a much better sample of her voice that the above.

Re: He's dead, Jim.

One of my brother's longtime friends.

Please remember to move over and/or slow down around emergency vehicles, roadside assistance vehicles, and road maintenance vehicles. RIP Nate.
I operated a TT in the TC metro area for several years and had my share of grabs on I-94. Old fashioned Holmes hoist that I had to crawl under the vehicle and hook up the chains. Did that on the shoulder of 94 with legs way too close to traffic lanes. Your head under the vehicle and feet a matter of inches from the fog line. Tractor trailers blowing by at speed a few feet away at most. I didn't care for that much.

My sympathies for the tragic loss of a friend. Just doing his job.

My sympathies to your brother as well.

I worked one year for a body shop/tow company in Glenwood Springs, CO. Picking up vehicles in the middle of winter on I-70 and the roads and even off-roads on the Western Slope was not a lot of fun.

Ben Bradlee has met the ultimate Editor. Ran a good ship, even if I disagreed with his politics.
