Re: Headline News Thread

That won't be because of his political views, it'll be because of Stormy and all the other women.

Politics is one thing (they love strong/driven men who stick to "principles"), cheating is another entirely.

It's the general view of "support your man" stance that is happening now, IMO. She'll leave b/c of the infidelity, etc. She's staying b/c of everything else.

A 737 MAX 8 went down in Indonesia. 189 are reported dead. That is potentially not good news for Boeing, as that plane is less than 2 years old. Worse news for the families potentially involved, of course. :(

Live updates pending.

Plane requested a return to the airport, before ATC lost contact with it.

Preliminary data from Flightradar24 shows the plane went through a sharp drive towards the sea, according to Reuters.

“The aircraft climbed to around 5,000 feet (1,524 m) before losing, and then regaining, height, before finally falling towards the sea. It was last recorded at 3,650 feet (1,113 m) and its speed had risen to 345 knots,” the agency reported.

Re: Headline News Thread

The wreckage has been located.

We reported earlier that flight JT610 requested a return to the airport shortly before it crashed.

Indonesia have now confirmed that air control approved the return.

“The (traffic) control allowed that, but then it lost contact,” Yohanes Sirait, a spokesman for the country’s air navigation authorities, told Reuters.

Meanwhile, divers from a special rescue team continue their efforts.

Re: the crash from a couple of weeks ago. It seems the transition training from the 737 NG to the MAX is a bit light, to say the least. And not just overseas.

This is on Boeing for not telling anyone. The training would have been similar even if American, Southwest, et al would have been told about it. It just would have included the information about why it's there, what it does, how it works, and how deactivate it. Their reasoning why they didn't doesn't make any sense.

It's an entirely different kind of flying, altogether.
