Yeah, 98.5 not mentioning the PC/UML game is to be expected unless both teams come out in maroon and gold tonight.

NPR doesn't even know what college hockey is aside from the Beanpot. I'm sure WEEI was too busy whining about Obama or NBA games that start too late...

just for clarity, my jersey is Team USA, not Lowell. Bunch of BC fans thought it was UML earlier. Last weekend at the Bruins game they thought it was the Rangers.

Both teams are on the ice. 33 minutes away.

who is this PA announcer?

no benedetto or grav tonight...automatically means that will be the pairing for the title game tomorrow

didn't get a great look at the PC section but UML looks to be pretty well represented

If I have this right, Gillies committed to NU and ultimately ended up at PC. Did Tim Whitehead even know he existed? Was Maine ever in the mix? Kid is unbelievable.

PC player pushes UML player into PC player who bumps into UML goalie. No way that should be a goal.

Like the moron he is, Bunyon forgets to wave off the goal and deceives everyone in the crowd by pointing in the direction of center ice (he was really pointing to a faceoff dot).

While from South Portland Gillies hasn't been in Maine since the end of his freshman year. He was only going to go to a team that assured him that he could start right away. He originally committed to NU because Rawlings was expected to leave after last season. When Rawlings announced he was returning, Gillies asked out of his commitment and committed to PC.

To add to it all, his old man was a goalie at UNH. Dad also played football for UNH.

A ha, thanks for the info. So it seems UNH would have had the inside track, correct? Was there ever any interest? Or was Umile steadfastly behind DeSmith as his goalie of the future?

not sure if he was contacted by either.... they may have, but might not have been willing to accommodate his request to start right away
