MCA recently became a vegan at the recommendation of his Tibetan doctors.
Ya, because that jibberish works. Was he shunning modern medicine for eastern remedies for his cancer, a la Steve Jobs?
Yeah, I understand that, but opting out of it is basically saying that you're giving up, which might be what some people want, and that is their decision.Well having seen what Chemo and radiation can do to you I can see why some might not be keen to deal with it.
Don Imus says holistic treatment has pushed his colon cancer into remission.Yeah, I understand that, but opting out of it is basically saying that you're giving up, which might be what some people want, and that is their decision.

IIRC Steve McQueen tried some radical treatment in Mexico but that didn't work so well.
Tough decision either way.
Some cancers go into remission, whether or not the patient tries conventional or "holistic medicine." That's why Cancer Treatment Centers of America spots (in small print say "no case is typical, you should not expect these results"). And if Imus had conventional treatment THEN herbs, etc, who's to say which modality, if either, is responsible for his "cure." The nice thing about cancer quacks is that only the survivors are there to tell the wonderful stories of miracle "cures," and medical records are never available for review. One true test of quackery is anyone selling "one cause, one cure." Like chiropractic.
Steve McQueen wound up in Mexico, taking coffee enemas. I don't think so.
I think there isn't one single part of this post that I would disagree with. I have always felt that at best the practice of medicine was 75% science, 20% art and 5% luck. One of the problems is the media-which always portrays the miracles on the national news. They never seem to give the overall statistics and survival rates. If there were so many magic cures, why is it that the super wealthy (Sam Walton, Steve Jobs, and lot of entertainment superstars) still seem to die of the same diagnoses at the same age as the rest of us?
Lillian Musial
Wife of Stan. She was 91.
I post that to say this: keep an eye on Stan now. They were married almost 72 years.

Not yet. The third one might still be Gibbs.

I wonder about that when the baldness cure commercials come on. Why would any of these rich and famous people be bald if it works?
Hmmmmmm.....
Patrick Stewart, Michael Jordan, Bryan Cranston, etc might like to have a word with you. Sometimes being bald is a better look.
