HE Quarters: UML @ Maine

Re: HE Quarters: UML @ Maine

He won't be in net but Lowell coach Blaise MacDonald has asked if Darling can be his Designated Driver this weekend.

Re: HE Quarters: UML @ Maine

Sophomore goalie Scott Darling has been suspended indefinitely for violating team rules, according to coach Tim Whitehead. From the article.

Ted is just wrong.

Right, I read that. Sounds like a press release from previously. Nowhere in the article did Timmay say Darling is still suspended, won't be playing or anything of the sort......

Do you think the reporter was too incompetent to ask that question or do you think he asked and Tim refused to comment ??

I'm not saying it's true what Ted Ryan reported, just saying its a little fishy there was no quote from Whitehead saying one way or the other.

Sometimes what isn't actually stated says more then what is.

Re: HE Quarters: UML @ Maine

Larry the reporter is also one of the radio voices for Maine Hockey. If Larry had used anything of that sort from a UMaine press release he would have stated that the quote was from a UMaine press release. When he writes according to Tim Whitehead, that is an indication that the quote came from Tim. I am pretty sure that the "suspended indefinitely" makes it very clear that he will be out this weekend.

OK, I hope UML plans on Sirman and then Darling comes out and stones them. Just trying to give UME fans a bit of hope and optimism.....

But if Larry the reporter asked Tim that and Tim responded that he is suspended indefinitely then Larry the report should have used quotes. Afterall that is the reason for them....to quote somebody when they say something. Larry the reporter should stick to announcing as he has a rather tenuous grasp on proper writing.

Re: HE Quarters: UML @ Maine

You have never heard Larry on the radio I see.:p

Quotes are used when actually quoting an individual. When a reporter conducts an interview he can write an article using facts attributed to the source without using quotes.

I expect you will see David Wilson in goal this weekend.

Re: HE Quarters: UML @ Maine

Should Larry the Reporter ever be Larry the radio guy? Chit no.

I think Timmay the Confused is messing with Blaise the Drunkard's mind and Darling the Ex-Goalie is having a good laff at Ushuahs.....where he might be getting a boob handful .

Larry's far from perfect but you're actually the one with no grasp what-so-ever on proper writing. Writing something paraphrased with the ,accoring to Blah Blah at the end is acceptable and commonplace. Give me a break.

Re: HE Quarters: UML @ Maine

WLBZ just led off their 5 o'clock newscast with Darling. Saying he won't be playing in the playoffs and that he has sought alcohol counseling.

Actually interviewed him, or just talking about him?

You think he is going to subject himself to an interview? It was just a comment and no actual quotes from Scott.

Re: HE Quarters: UML @ Maine

That's just what TIMMAY needed another excuse as to why Maine loses.

He always seems to have a pocketful of them, huh?

I can see it now......it's 2019 and TIMMAY is still pulling out the old excuses as to why Maine has missed their 12th consecutive NCAA Tourney.......

How many fans would be in the arena any predictions? Less than 2000 a game if that happens.
