Re: Harvard Crimson 2015-2016 - All things Bright and Beautiful
what the hell is going on over there?!?!
what the hell is going on over there?!?!
what the hell is going on over there?!?!
That loss was a killer. Too much individual effort and not enough puck movement. Team needs to get back to basics. Need a statement game against Union.
Vesey not playing tonight.
Friday vs RPI they ran into a goalie who brought his A gamewhat the hell is going on over there?!?!
Vesey not playing tonight.
Sure, a freshman with a whopping 5 games played. Get rid of him. Genius
Good news and bad news tonight. Good news is that we won and Ryan Donato recorded his first collegiate hat trick (unless they change the first goal back to Criscuolo). Bad news is obviously Vesey. Trying to stay positive and hope that he is okay for next week. Madsen had a bounce back game. The rest of the team picked up the slack without 19 but I would not want to go the rest of the way without him. We can deal with that next October.
Yeah, and kid played fine for a 18 yo freshman early this season before he tore his MCL after the 1st QPac game
sorry who tore their MCL?
I think Vesey plays this weekend and the D is getting healthy. Like what I see from Baughmann.
Oliver Wahlstrom took a blow to the head by a Russian skater at the youth olympics. He was taken to a hospital in Lillehammer on a stretcher. College Hockey News reporting that he was moving his legs and hands. Hope he makes a full recovery.
That was an embarassing performance against an inferior Cornell team on home ice. Just no attention to detail. Lazy penalties, blocking a harmless shot when the goalie has a clean look (and deflecting it into the goal), no speed through the neutral ice, too many selfish / hero hockey attempts.
Cornell should have and deserved to win. Harvard decided they wanted to play Cornell hockey and hit everything as opposed to using their speed and skill to their advantage.
And Madsen. While he hasn't given up more than 2 goals since January, sometimes stats do lie. He just is shaky back there - not covering up pucks, etc.
Not giving up on this team, but somebody has to relight the fire because it isn't there right now.
I think you are being a little harsh. We outplayed them tonight. Tyler Moy should have scored on that open net - how Gilliam saved that shot, I still don't know. We had chances. Our first line didn't play all that well and there was too much individualism. That probably more than anything hurt us. We never forced Cornell out of their sag and wait pathetic D system that is all that Shaefer knows how to coach. That and the physical nonsense which I agree Harvard got baited into and when they do that, bad things happen. I don't think this was Teddy's finest coaching performance by any stretch.
Worried about Sean Malone. Hope he is okay. Didn't look good and I'm guessing he'll miss tomorrow night. We could have used Zerter Gossage and Eddie Ellis tonight - bigger players who can play the physical game.
Madsen made some terrific saves tonight. He could have had the first goal but the second was tough. I don't necessarily blame him tonight.
Let's hope the team has something left for the Raiders. It's tough when we have to play Colgate after Cornell.
Maybe you are right. I just expect that for a team who was supposed to play for some NCAA hardware, Harvard would bury a Cornell team that frankly, isn't that great.
News flash: This is a Harvard team that frankly isn't that great, either.
