Harvard Crimson 2014-2015: Restoring the Karma

Re: Harvard Crimson 2014-2015: Restoring the Karma

Anyone know of any get-togethers to watch today's game in the Boston area? I don't have cable but would love to see the game.

Well that stunk big time. What a meltdown. That shorthanded goal was ridiculous - completely changed the game. Michalek doesn't look good at this point. We are going to have to have a major shift in momentum if we are to win this game. I fear the worst at this point.

Re: Harvard Crimson 2014-2015: Restoring the Karma

I don't like the way the team handles leads in the first place. This one is special, second game in a row that Michalek didn't know where a rebound was, seconds after the fact.

Harvard has become automatic when reaching the ECAC semis. They have won their last eight semifinal appearances (2002-2006, 2008, 2012, 2015).

Your goaltending has been shaky all season. Harvard's best goaltender is going to be playing in Minnesota tonight.

You have no idea what you are talking about. Michalek saved our bacon early in the season against BU and UML. And Quinnipiac at their place. And last weekend, he was immense. Save your trolling for some other thread.

Normally, we are actually pretty good with a lead. I think today the shortie that the Bobcats scored changed the tenor of the game. The second goal made it closer than it should have been. Really, if we played our game, we would have blown them out of the building.

We are #11 in the Pairwise after tonight's results so far. I still say that even if we don't win tomorrow, we still should be in. We'll see...

While somewhat dependent on what happens elsewhere, the Crimson can survive two wins by Colgate, but not St. Lawrence.

Re: Harvard Crimson 2014-2015: Restoring the Karma

Congratulations on the win. There were a lot of Saints fans in the building rooting for you last night.

But what in the world was with your team????? At the end of the first period, I looked at my friend sitting next to me and said "If Harvard is going to play like this, then nobody is going to beat them, period. That was incredible." I thought you were finally at full strength and clicking. Then you had the turnover, gave up the shortie, and . . . imploded. Harvard went from looking unbeatable to incompetent in about thirty seconds. Very weird.

Anyway, I hope that first-period squad shows up for the NCAAs and you guys make a run at the title. Good luck!

Thanks Tim. You guys deserve credit for coming back against Colgate. What a game. I'm sure it is disappointing to have it end that way as I think the Saints were playing at a high level coming into the semis. I think you guys could give some teams in the national tournament a run for their money.

About us. Yeah, that first period was awesome. What happened in the second was that we got too tentative and stopped moving our feet which kills us every time. Had Vesey scored on the PP in the second period off that backhand flip, the game would have been a blowout. We would have continued to push and it would not have been close. But the Bobcats didn't finish first by accident. They're a good team. Give them credit for coming back. But we definitely made it easy for them to do so.

If we win tonight, I'm hoping that we get to stay in the East either in Manchester or Providence. Right now the Yale fans are downing bottles of Pepto Bismol at the thought of having to root for us to win so that they can get in. Love it!

FYI - if Harvard loses, they want BU and Minnesota wins. There are ways in if either of those lose (though if BU loses it requires a lot of other things to go right, including the NCHC consolation game) but the possibility is there. Otherwise Harvard will be the first team out.

Also want Denver to beat North Dakota

I was one of those fans. And, I'll be rooting for you tonight albeit from New Hampshire instead of LP. For the first 18 minutes of the 3rd, I wasn't sure how it was going to end up and kept thinking about QU getting 2 quick to tie Union last Friday with EAG's. I don't really care who does and doesn't get in. I think Harvard is a good team, with some great players, that is fun to watch and who I think can maybe go the deepest of the NCAA teams who have a chance at an autobid or at-large. Plus, I hope you win it all so half of your guys leave!;) Was really impressed by Blackwell, McNally and, as always, Vesey last night. At the same time, I just don't like the way Colgate plays and just think their guys play too much like the CJHL/OPJHL with some chippy stick work and chirping. Although I like their coach, I nearly choked on my snacks at the SLU reception when the guy introducing Greg Carvel called Colgate "classy". We've had many playoff series with them in the last 10 years and they have honestly been anything but that. So good luck tonight and the rest of the way. The more you guys play your game and stay out of the crap and the chirping, the better you will do in my opinion as again last night when it started in the 2nd I thought it just brought your team down a notch in your play.
