Harvard Crimson 2014-2015: Restoring the Karma

Re: Harvard Crimson 2014-2015: Restoring the Karma

Of all the ECAC teams only Harvard has wins over three ranked teams ahead of it, UML, BC and BU. If Yale or Q lose a few they will drop in the pairwise like lead ballons. If Harvard can make Lake Placid and win one, they may be the only team beside who ever wins the tournament to make the NCAA's. What I am saying is that knocking off Yale, may not only get you into Lake Placid, it make also get you into the NCAA tournament. Having five wins against ranked opponents may be all you need.

McNally and kerfoot back tonight!!!!

Bothman, I owe you an apology. I thought for sure that Alex was through after watching him crumple to the ice last weekend. I didn't think there was any chance that he would suit up. That kid is one tough Crimson.

McNally had indicated in "The Crimson" that he was pointing to a return at some point in the ECAC playoffs. To have him back this weekend is HUGE. This is the team we thought we would have back in November. Blackwell, Malone, Kerfoot and now McNally.

They fought hard tonight and went toe to toe with Yale. And I really liked how they responded after Yale tied the game. Showed character and mental toughness. Can't keep Vesey down forever.

Onward and upward. Here's hoping for a trifecta tomorrow; men's b-ball over the Eli, the women over the Bobcats and wrapping up the series for the men. Wouldn't that be sweet?? :)

Maybe but there are too many contingencies for my liking. I still think it will take getting to the tournament championship game and even then, it might not be enough. We'll need help from other conferences. But hey, it's March and anything can happen. I'm enjoying the ride so far especially after tonight.

Re: Harvard Crimson 2014-2015: Restoring the Karma

Harvard could be #12 in the PWR if things fall the right way after tonight.

Re: Harvard Crimson 2014-2015: Restoring the Karma

Harvard really outplayed and outskated Yale tonight. Harvard just has more skill and speed. Yale made it a game in the 3rd and they brought come chippiness.

The phantom holding call on Kerfoot was a joke...and Yale scored on the ensuing PP.

Harvard just needs to play with speed, play a possession game, stay out of the box....and I think they can win this series

Blackwell and McNally are literally getting better with each shift!

BTW - Vesey scored the game winner, but other than that was quiet. I would expect him to have a big game tomorrow night.

No need to apologize. I had just heard he was out of the sling and was aiming to play. This is playoff hockey and for Harvard (at least against Yale), it is win or go home.

Re: Harvard Crimson 2014-2015: Restoring the Karma

Harvard at #15 in the PWR. A few things did not break Harvard's way such as Quinnipiac coming back against Union and Bowling Green winning in OT.

Has anyone seen where Harvard will be in the PWR if they can win tonight?

If Harvard wins tonight and all other favorites win, Harvard will be #14 in PWR. If some funky things happen, Harvard can rise to high as #10.

Hardest game to win is one that ends a team's season. Guys need to come out strong. Yale will be playing desperate hockey.

You can say that again. Couldn't buy a goal tonight. Two posts in the third period. And a bagel on on the PP. Tough, emotional game. We'll see how the boys respond tomorrow.

Lyon 1, Harvard 0. Like our chances tomorrow. Harvard had better of play!

Well I'll be darned. Now time to face Quinnipiac on the Olympic sheet.

Congrats. Gutsy win that doesn't surprise. I made the point that Vesey is better offensively than anyone on Yale is defensively. Q will have a tough opponent on Friday. Unfortunately, so will we! Racehorse hockey is coming to LP!

Great to see. Congrats from a former K House Resident Gov Tutor and veteran of I and G Entries.

Even sweeter that it was in New Haven, in the deciding game and in the 2nd OT. Keep it going...
