Halloween Face-Off Lake Placid

Re: Halloween Face-Off Lake Placid

I woulf hate on the ECAZ tourney being in AC if my team were still in the conference but I like this halloween thing, very cool, I would go if it were not for UVM having a home game versus Maine that night, too bad.

Re: Halloween Face-Off Lake Placid

We hope it sells out! I hope its a fun event. The idea came from the coaches of the 4 schools. If you cant make it this year, they are planning something similiar for next year--although it will be towards Christmas time, not Halloween. But, really, you should come this year and next year.

If any of you are on facebook, find "Lake Placid Events" and fan us. We will be putting up an enter to win contest soon--tickets, hotel, dinner for this weekend.

And--lets start coming up wth Halloween costumes, huh?

Re: Halloween Face-Off Lake Placid

Check out our facebook page tomorrow am (www.facebook.com/Lakeplacidevents) to enter a sweepstakes to win a weekend get-away in Lake Placid to see the Halloween face-off. Sweepstakes includes two nights of lake view lodging at the Northwoods Inn on Main Street and really close to the Olympic Center, dinner for up to 4 people, center ice tickets for both games and event swag...

It sounds like a great alternative for the Governor's Cup. I do wish it were 2 days though, as it'd be nice to make a tournament out of it.

Re: Halloween Face-Off Lake Placid

Hi Everyone - I know that this has been mentioned before on here before in different threads, but just wanted to let you all know that tickets are on sale (early ticket discount too) and a web page has been set-up. We will keep adding more info and I will post over here as well. We are going to really have fun with this event--will be akin to the days the ECACs were held in Placid!

Cheers!

Massachusetts couldn't have picked a worse day to schedule their engineering licensing exam. If I leave from Worcester right after the test, I might arrive in time for the Clarkson/SLU game's overtime...

Re: Halloween Face-Off Lake Placid

Lake Placid is travelling south to RPI this friday night and Union this Saturday night. Come see us for a chance to win some tickets for next weekend Halloween face-off or some cool event merch. We will be outside each arena for an hour prior to the games start time and on the ice in between 1st and 2nd periods.

Also two more days to enter to win a weekend get-away to see Halloween face-off in Lake Placid at www.facebook.com/Lakeplacidevents

Re: Halloween Face-Off Lake Placid

No sense in starting a new thread. This seems fine for discussing the games.

It will be real interesting to see how RPI does against Union on neutral ice. Both teams seem to be playing well, but Union has produced more against common opponents. RPI's key to winning is to have its defense and goalie play better than Union 's and keep its offense spread around.

I have a feeling both teams defense may struggle on the wide ice. Haven't seen either team play in person, so hard for me to gauge which team is best suited to take advantage of the wide ice.

Didn't RPI play on wide ice at CC?

Re: Halloween Face-Off Lake Placid

LPHockeyFan - any early feel on how many tickets have been sold? Wondering what kind of crowd to expect this weekend.

Re: Halloween Face-Off Lake Placid

making the drive up from NYC tomorrow night and will be at the late game for sure, might catch the end of the first. I'll be wearing my road SLU #15 jersey as usual, feel free to say hello if you see me.

Re: Halloween Face-Off Lake Placid

hope whole lower bowl is full. And some in the upperdeck
I have a feeling that the attendance wont be as good as it could be for the RPI/Union game with the Dutchmen Shoes game going on the same day. I'll also assume that the RPI band wont be in Lake Placid for the same reason. Should be a decent crowd for the late game however.

Yes, both teams have played on big ice. Advantage goes to the offenses for sure.
Union has been scoring in bunches in the early going...RPI will need to have an answer.

RPI D-men won't be able to pummel quite as much. I'd bet the speedy Dolan makes the D lineup for RPI with either LeBoeuf or Koudys sitting. I expect to see Halpern dress also. Will Pat Cullen finally crack RPIs lineup? We sure could use him. RPI has plenty of speed up front and Higgs has shown us he can bury his chances down low.

As with most RPI v. U games, there will likely be a parade to the sin bin. Special teams may tell the tale. York has been excellent for RPI so far- and he'll need to be again if RPI is to win it, IMO.

My buddies in the band told me they're going to LP, and potentially looking to create a branch-off band for the Dutchman's Shoes game.
