I think, due to the true nature (and supposed nature, which has been discussed on here), there really is nothing to gain by either side in mentioning anything. It can only hurt one or both sides in the future. Something about letting sleeping dogs lie........(or is it lay? I never remember the proper grammar for that phrase)

It's nothing that a simple statement with no questions following wouldn't fix. Hell, that would have been appropriate a week ago. Now, well, it really won't satisfy. I get not saying anything, but it's crap.

It’s a foregone conclusion that the school would entertain the idea of hiring Appert and it’s expected they may reach out to him. The Denver Post regards Appert as the No. 2 contender (if he should apply) behind Air Force associate head coach Mike Corbett, a former UD defenseman.

UD? And they can't even spell Gwoz's name correctly. Did the Denver Post make such a statement?

The name of the school is University of Denver. It is Denver folks who created the "standard" DU. So if you look for someone at whom to chortle in regard to acronym usage it would be them.

DU (or UD) is not an acronym. Just as NHL, NBA, FBI, ILGWU, etc aren't acronyms.

RADAR, however, is an acronym. As is SCUBA, UNICEF and NATO, et al.
