And many still don't fully understand what a semi-auto is, unfortunately. They see the look/style of the gun, and think "BAN IT!" A basic AR-15 is the same as a .45: one trigger pull, one bang. You show that to a few people some will be okay with the .45 and not the AR. And you are left with a WTeff look on your face.

Umm...most modern .45s are semi-auto.

We don't have to ban guns if we ban the people with guns. Send them south (packing) to protect Mexicans from gun violence. No gun problem here, no gun violence there, and no need for a wall.

I know exactly what they are and ban them all. The people that want them are not responsible enough to own them. It's been proven over and over and over and over again.

Why even point out that it would be "tougher" if it's not a doubt about if it can be done? Especially when the source of 90% of the gun problems in North America are due to the United States.

You blatantly said that even if there was a law, nothing would change, which is the current excuse that we don't make any new laws because we've passed the breaking point. Wake up to what you are posting.

6 round magazine limit, .5 second shot rate. On ALL guns. Done.

Stop posting doubts, and start posting real ideas.

I know that. You know that. But some out there don't realize that. They just see the scary-looking AR-15 and want to ban them, but are ok with 45s, even though both are semi-automatics. That's what I'm saying.

As for real ideas, alfa, I have: universal background checks, red flag laws, I'm ok with mag limits. Bump stocks are now banned, also.

Are American manufacturers really supplying most of Central/South America?

I was under the impression that most military grade hardware was from European manufacturers. I do believe that the Kalashnikov is (was?) the most prevalent assault rifle used worldwide. Sure Remington and Colt have US Military contracts, but I believe that is their extent. Not to say they don't end up in the hands of bad guys. I just don't think they manufacture the volume needed.

Ah, yes. The AK-47. The very best there is. When you absolutely, positively got to kill every mutha****a in the room....accept no substitutes.

Explain. IMO:

Any new law here will be harder to enforce than in AUS/NZ, just because of pure numbers of land borders, existing guns, and gun culture.
We should pass more laws tightening up the current laws (the nuances I've mentioned many a time).
Some people don't understand what a semi-auto really is.
A total BAN THE GUNZ is not going to happen. Period. Accept it.
