Guns For Everyone!: Another Mass Shooting!

Re: Guns For Everyone!: Another Mass Shooting!

We need what you said 100%

I just don't see how the "burden of proof" in regards to a theft stands up in court. "My Handgun was stolen out of my car (and said handgun was properly cased and unloaded ;)) while I was parked at Billie Bob's gas station (No Cameras) getting a 6-pack after some time at the local gun range".

It seems simple on its face, but I don't think it would stand up in court. It'll net the dumbest of the dumb, but will probably cause more legal harm/baggage than we want. And I say this as someone who sincerely believes we need 100% accountability with regard to the firearms you own. You have a right to own. That right comes with the responsibility and liability however.

If they violate the new laws, then prosecute all of them. I've stopped caring about "sportsmanship" and "muh rights". My family has NEVER owned semi-automatic weapons of any flavor - only standard bolt or lever-action rifles, single or double-load shotguns, and traditional revolvers. You don't need a semi-auto to hunt and you aren't going to stop the US Army with them, so their only existence is to play tin soldier by blowing away some watermelons or caricatures of Obama, kill the most humans possible, and (as always) own the libs.

Renewal every 5 years and liable for felony negligence for any firearm registered in your name that is used to commit a crime, unless you can prove that the firearm was stolen from a properly locked safe by someone whom you did not trust with the key or combination (a safe, not a display cabinet with sh*tty 4-pin lock or Master padlock - those things are useless).

If it's a permanently inoperable collector item, or a serious antique (an old flintlock for instance), I'm willing to let registration and other laws go.

I'm okay with that.

I agree. I just want any actions that are done to correct this regime's actions to be fully thought out and vetted. We know that propaganda will be a key tool that R's will use. I don't want it to go from "common sense law" to something that can be legitimately spun to pull in anyone who isn't a hardcore R. I also don't want something that will impact me as someone who enjoys sport shooting. (for the record, all long guns w/ 2 or 5 round capacity)

Brent who who is "antifa"? I don't mean by definition I mean:

1. What is their mission statement?
2. Where is their HQ?
3. Who is their leader?
4. How many members do "they" have?
5. Do "they" have a website?

Finally:

6. What specific acts by "antifa" make them the equivalent of previous mass shootings by persons similar to this latest shooter in frequency, methodology and severity?

No it's not. And use your own words Brent not what the right wing s**t-bubble is telling you.

If you need this to shoot or hunt you shouldn’t have a gun

That is for hunting men, not animals...

Re: Guns For Everyone!: Another Mass Shooting!

We "warmongering conservadems" are slowly moving you to the left, Rube. ;)

It's not moving to the left, it's covering the loopholes to prevent stupid irresponsible people from owning f*ing guns. We all ignorantly thought we could be responsible adults. Stepping back a pace or two, what absurdity.

Oh no, it's definitely leftward drift :D. You realize anyone who still votes Republican (and by extension, Trumpsters) doesn't want any gun laws other than "Strict interpretation of 2A today, strict interpretation of 2A tomorrow, strict interpretation of 2A forever!" right?

Own guns. That's 2A. Unfortunately, there are some really stupid, ignorant, trigger happy people out there. To me it's not left or right, it's low IQ vs common f*ing sense. I won't bring politics into this. Why? There are some on the right that have the capacity of the mind to actually think, and same goes for the left.

Re: Guns For Everyone!: Another Mass Shooting!

Latest read on the Dayton killings says the killer purchased the guns legally, nothing in his record would have prevented the purchases and he actually was able to massacre people in just 30 seconds. He was interrupted by a very brave and very lucky person who grabbed the barrel of his gun, and in the brief seconds he was distracted was shot dead by the cops. Not sure if that brave citizen was a good guy with a gun, or just a good guy.

So for all you folks who are willing to make the great, million mile trip across the divide and could reluctantly get behind better mental health screening and background checks, it appears that wouldn't have stopped this guy at all.

I love all this freedom. I really do. I am so f uc king proud to be an American today I can hardly get next to myself. Thank God I live in a country where those who are resourceful enough to buy the right kind of gun can destroy the lives of 3 dozen families in just 30 seconds.

Because of our gun culture, there will always be someone who slips through the cracks. I hate it. You hate it. Unfortunately, it's a fact. We can lessen that with tighter laws (which I am for, mind you) but there will always be that one time...:(

Prove me wrong. I actually wish you could, but unfortunately, you cannot. That does not make me happy, btw. There's always going to be that one person. Always. it sucks.

Give it a rest for once, Brent. No one needs to be reminded we can't prevent everything. That sentiment -- whether you mean it to or not -- makes it harder for people to come together and do SOMETHING. That sentiment feeds the paralysis that has us doing nothing. So just give it a rest. Instead of reminding us there will always be that one time, how about you finally admit that it is our very culture that needs changing. Oh wait, that might take a lot of work, and since it won't prevent everything...
