Guns For Everyone!: Another Mass Shooting!

Re: Guns For Everyone!: Another Mass Shooting!

The fvcking treasonous cult otherwise known as the republican party is so big on "repeal and replace" why don't they see the possibilities in repealing and replacing the 2nd Amendment with something that works in 2019 America? We can still allow for the possession of some firearms in this country. But we've proven, with tens of thousands of firearm deaths every year and 250+ mass shooting incidents in 2019 alone, that the current set of laws is detrimental to the safety and security of the nation. If republicans and conservatives actually cared for and loved America and Americans as much as they claim, they'd be first in line to come up with meaningful changes to our laws, even if that meant a 28th Amendment that repealed the 2nd, and replacing it with a 29th that made sense.

I agree with the posters on this ridiculous statement. Japan is a huge video game producer/consumer... Nintendo, Sega, Playstation etc...

Re: Guns For Everyone!: Another Mass Shooting!

The sheer number of guns currently in this country would require military action to get them all, and I guarantee that will lead to bloodshed, since Jim Billy Bob ain't goan give up his guns.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Who said we're coming for their guns?

Mandatory registration of all firearms in your possession. And a renewable license, with mandatory safety/use training refreshers every 10 years, to use firearms. And insurance for said firearms.

Re: Guns For Everyone!: Another Mass Shooting!

Kamala Harris just finished up an interview on some CNN talking head's show. 2 or 3 times she mentioned the lack of action on the part of "congress" when it comes to reasonable solutions to gun violence. Congress is not to blame. republicans are to blame. My guess is if there were a half dozen more democrats in the U.S. Senate, a bill would be sitting on trump's desk in days awaiting his veto with some sort of comprehensive change to our gun laws. Why was she so reluctant to say republicans were to blame for the lack of action? At both the state and federal levels this is true. My God when the better side is playing the "bothsides" game what hope is there for a political solution?

Fvck the republicans. They can all go choke on the barrel of an AR-15.

Re: Guns For Everyone!: Another Mass Shooting!

We don't need to eliminate guns. How about we eliminate the guns that can shoot 35 people in seconds? How about we eliminate weapons of mass destruction in the hands of people who have no reason to use them? You want a handgun to defend your home? Fine. You want a reasonable rifle to go hunting for deer or duck? Fine. You do not need a weapon of mass destruction. At this point, I would risk whatever path we have to take to eliminate weapons of mass destruction from the homes of civilians. Whatever sacrifices we face now to do that will save far more lives were this nation to otherwise endure for the next 2 or 3 centuries. And please, no slippery slope bothsiderism bull5h!t. We've already seen ONE side of that slope, and it has led to 250+ mass shootings in this country just this year alone.

Louder for the people in the back please!

Just addressing the issue to a portion of the people. I've stated my ideals for improvement on gun regulations many, many times on here, none of which involves repealing the 2nd Amendment.

Re: Guns For Everyone!: Another Mass Shooting!

When it's White Guy Terrorism it's always "he's crazy".

When it's brown/black/Islamic terrorism it's always brown/black/Islamic terrorism.

As for the second amendment. Right now it's the joke of the World. We're a joke. We live in a joke nation where are claim to fame isn't freedom like it used to be, no our claim to fame is we are the world's war machine.

If that's the path that is taken, so be it. I just hope people realize what it would take to actually attempt to eliminate guns in this country, that's all.

We do realize it...and like I said. **** em.

Re: Guns For Everyone!: Another Mass Shooting!

I'm fine with repealing the 2nd Amendment.

The Constitution is not scripture. We have needed to change it plenty of times. We need to change it now. It is no longer the 1700's.

Re: Guns For Everyone!: Another Mass Shooting!

Once again, the rather obvious suggestion of a magazine limit AND a firing rate limit. While it will not eliminate the shooting, it will certainly lessen the number of shots that can get put out, which lessens the danger for the rest of us.

And given the limits on firearms in the past being 100% constitutional, that would be an easy one for the courts.

Does not ban guns, just limits what they are capable of doing.

Re: Guns For Everyone!: Another Mass Shooting!

According to WSJ the Dayton’s shooter’s sister was one of the deceased so sounds like there was a domestic element about it.

Re: Guns For Everyone!: Another Mass Shooting!

Maybe Amazon, door dash and bite squad will save lives. Americans can’t shop anymore without fear of being gunned down by a white guy with a high capacity rifle.

Or not.

Connor Betts, the man authorities say killed nine people and injured 26, was bullied when he was a student at a suburban Dayton, Ohio, high school.

A classmate, Laura Wakeley, said that Betts responded by making up a list of people at the school he wanted to shoot in 2010 or 2011. "He had a plan to shoot up the high school," she told reporters near the home of Betts' parents.

Huh. Maybe mention that to somebody next time?

Re: Guns For Everyone!: Another Mass Shooting!

Evidently a guy grabbed the barrel of the Dayton shooter's long gun. The shooter switched to a pistol to keep going but by then the cops shot him.

Re: Guns For Everyone!: Another Mass Shooting!

Brent who who is "antifa"? I don't mean by definition I mean:

1. What is their mission statement?
2. Where is their HQ?
3. Who is their leader?
4. How many members do "they" have?
5. Do "they" have a website?

Finally:

6. What specific acts by "antifa" make them the equivalent of previous mass shootings by persons similar to this latest shooter in frequency, methodology and severity?

A few of them got a bit out of hand with a conservative troll who goaded them on, and that makes them all bad, obviously.

Mandatory registration of all firearms in your possession. And a renewable license, with mandatory safety/use training refreshers every 10 years, to use firearms. And insurance for said firearms.

Renewal every 5 years and liable for felony negligence for any firearm registered in your name that is used to commit a crime, unless you can prove that the firearm was stolen from a properly locked safe by someone whom you did not trust with the key or combination (a safe, not a display cabinet with sh*tty 4-pin lock or Master padlock - those things are useless).

If it's a permanently inoperable collector item, or a serious antique (an old flintlock for instance), I'm willing to let registration and other laws go.

I get that it's scary to say anything to authorities about a guy you know who's talking about shooting people, but she's probably going to regret allowing her name to be published almost a decade later. :-/

We need what you said 100%

I just don't see how the "burden of proof" in regards to a theft stands up in court. "My Handgun was stolen out of my car (and said handgun was properly cased and unloaded ;)) while I was parked at Billie Bob's gas station (No Cameras) getting a 6-pack after some time at the local gun range".

It seems simple on its face, but I don't think it would stand up in court. It'll net the dumbest of the dumb, but will probably cause more legal harm/baggage than we want. And I say this as someone who sincerely believes we need 100% accountability with regard to the firearms you own. You have a right to own. That right comes with the responsibility and liability however.

I like the additions. You got my vote.
