Kep, you might be surprised, but in your scenario Manitoba and Saskatchewan just might break from the rest of their herd. Alberta would stay with BC. The Yukon would become East Alaska.

I've heard AB is Texas with hockey instead of football. MB and SK are both dirt farmer states, so I'd expect them to have the politics of Kansas. My understanding is there is even a touch of Jesusidiocy up there, though nothing like our brand. Presumably all farmers are terrified by the Capricious Weather God.

If any of you think there wouldn’t be a civil war in Alaska about which side to be on you are sorely mistaken. Make Alaska blue and destroy Wasilla? Sign me up.

Also, Alberta and Manitoba are in Jesusland.

What is Newfie politics like? Is it Maine But Even Poorer? And if so, well, what is Newfie politics like? Do they have Christian Taliban there -- Mississippi Freezing?

I assume Alaska would secede as their own thing and be immediately gobbled up by Putin.

Newfies are pretty liberal, the Liberal Party swept Eastern Canada last election.

Alaska would be united against being taken over by Putin at least.

I thought "Extended Stay Hotel" was a euphemism for the local jail.

Anyway, (1) they weren't wrong and (2) they really gotta change the name now.

Rockford shooter took off down the interstate, Illinois State Police have shut down both directions of I-55 just outside Lincoln, IL.

Eastern Canada might as well be an old folks home. My mom in law lived in northern NB. The average age was dead.
