"Greatest Games" involving North Dakota

Re: "Greatest Games" involving North Dakota

Well there's a difference between not memorizing the whole thread and calling a game with a life-altering injury to a player a "greatest game."

Greatest can have a wide variation in its interpretation. Some may consider "greatest" to be the most memorable. I know there are some Sioux fans who look at the 2005 WCHA Final Five Semifinal as a very memorable game (Bina incident) against DU.

As for the memorizing the whole thread, I was more so just messing with you. I apologize if it came out the wrong way. :)

Re: "Greatest Games" involving North Dakota

Your ranking was based purely on game results and achievements (nothing wrong with that at all). IMO, the players who entered RPI in 84-85 were not as good as those who graduated in 1984..

You are 100% correct on my rankings. I will definitely take your word for it regarding the '84 RPI squad. :)

I'd have to go with the 2001 NCAA final due to the fact that it was insane. Runner up would be the 2007 semi final vs. BC. Nothing happened until the third and then mayhem ensued. BC and UND always play great games it seems. Looking forward to this year's contest in St. Paul.

Onion Man is Brown-educated, and thus better than us, so he should be held to a higher standard, you know.

Bina's game is a memorable game, for sure (I was there), but it's not a "great" game. It sucked. It was depressing, and the injury took a lot of the joy out of the Final Five that year.

I was thinking more "memorable" than great. The Roy incident is tattooed into my brain and I think of it whenever I see the North Dakota jersey.
