Very true. But at this point, it *should* be political suicide to ignore them anymore. At a bare minimum, everyone that was on the list who attended the 1/6 insurrection should go to jail- anyone preventing that is a traitor to this country, and should be reminded of that constantly.
Just like any reasonable person running against people who voted against the impeachment should use the words that were used to vote no. And I do mean all- "it's not the time" or "impeachment is to divisive" is just as bad as "sameies" or "antifa" claims- as both do not hold the instigator responsible. If any of these guys try to bring up charges against ANY Democrat, the quick reply SHOULD be "where were you on 1/13/21?" as the hypocrisy should not be stood for any longer. Includes guest to fuax news, too.

This is true. To the extent any of the republicans are not caught up in all the Q garbage and know the election was on the up and up, they can't admit they ignored the warning signs because they created this Frankenstein's monster. Mitch McConnel knows the Q people -- including the handful in congress -- are wackos without a firm tether to reality. He knows the election was free and fair. He also knows his side is responsible for unleashing these people on us so will never want to admit we have to watch out for them.
As more and more comes out I want to reiterate what I posted last night. It doesn't matter if this was a slipshod undertaking doomed to fall short of their intended goals. It doesn't matter that it was likely just a small percentage of those that massed on the capital last week. This was a planned attack. You don't storm the Capitol building, kill a cop, and sacrifice 4 of your own side just to poop on a few desks. If caught, you're gonna go to prison for a long time just for that. You go there looking to strike at the very heart and head of our system. Flawed though it certainly is, it still needs protection and preservation. These people, deluded as they were, were bent on making a public spectacle of Pence, Pelosi and others bringing them out in chains at the least, and hanging them at the worst. You don't bother counterfeiting $1 notes because youre going to prison as long as the guys who are making fake $20 and $100 ones.
The first major attack on the World Trade Centers killed a only handful of people but was purported to actually have been designed to bring the towers down and kill thousands. Well, it took a while but 8 years later they figured out a better, far more horrifying way to do it. The domestic enemies of America have no less hatred for our government and are actually more dangerous since white guys don't draw as much scrutiny, even though the evidence is clear they should draw far more.

The great irony of them so concerned about child trafficing is that the only known minor sex traffic ring was run by a rich white dude, who had a LOT of conservative friends.
I don't get how people will rely on rumors about the Clintons, but ignore the facts about Epstein.
One of the key reasons it did not happen is that those "Deep Staters" got the members out in time. If the Qucumbers (love that term) had trapped the members in the chambers, the security forces would have been forced to defend them with deadly force.

Something about our brains allows us to sometimes more readily believe or accept wild falsehoods while reasonable truths get dismissed. During trumps 2015-2016 campaign he offered to help some woman get her sick child to some far away treatment. That story was barely retweeted and quickly faded away, even though it was both true and one of the rare times trump actually helped someone with little chance of great return. Yet he tweets Mexicans are rapists and drug dealers, something that is 99.999% false and that one gets retweeted a billion times.
Where does it end? Do democrats need to just simply start lying and making everything up? How do you combat this problem when it literally begins within our brains?
