He was the one I posted the other day who said he planned the coup with Mo Brooks, Godard and some other lover. He also said he would die for the cause.
 
It seems almost startling seeing how much stuff has been uncovered, stuff that was hiding in plain sight, about what was being planned for January 6th. trump and his enablers simply needed to fire up the crowds and let them go.

It seems a little reminiscent of 9-11 and how quickly we knew the names of the 19 hijackers. My guess is if there is a fully revealed accounting of this we are going to see some fairly prominent names as co-conspirators. That's IF there is a fully revealed accounting. With 9-11 it was a bunch of brown-skinned Muslims with funny sounding names. This attack on America was planned by Americans (mostly) so I'm sure plenty of people will be doing everything they can to prevent the real stories from getting out. I wouldn't be surprised if there were working and former law enforcement officials, current and former/retired military officials and at least a few members of congress who knew exactly what was going to happen.

I think the fat f-cks were just lazy because they had been permitted to operate in the clear for years. They had an entire communications infrastructure, wide open, barely requiring 2FA, plus major television networks and 98% of talk radio. They pounded Nazi propaganda into the... let's call them "minds"... of their dopey followers from CPAC and Fox and the RNC and Rush and then a trillion small fry copy cats. They had the thin veneer of irony they could hide behind whenever anybody cornered them.

And these dopes nearly pulled it off.

Nuke the Republican party and every conservative think tank, lobbyist group, and network, from space. It's the only way to be sure. Nothing has changed since the 6th -- they're still all here. They still have the same delusions and the same mental incapacity. Kill or be killed.

For the past 50 years Watergate gave us the blankgate moniker; when you say blankgate, everyone knows what you're talking about. We need a catchy, one-word marketing name for this event that will help it live forever in infamy.

A lot of them created extra confusion during the riot by flashing their badges at the barriers and at the doors while leading groups of QMaga toward the chambers.
 
So in terms of the retired military that were part of this- we've talked about previous officers that could be recalled, and then court martialed- can that happen to the people who took part in this? And is the military punishment more than the civilian one?

And do police officers face unique charges because of them being cops?

It's too bad that it will be hard to discover all of the ones who flashed badges- as that's a clear violation of the law.

The unique charges the cops will receive is early retirement. The unions are so strong nothing will happen to them.

Just not an accurate statement to make, at all. Some, sure they get off, but most that are identified will be fired. No early retirement.

The question is do they face any special treatment over what a normal person would face. We know that retired military can be called back and court martialed. It would be interesting to see the former military thrown into their jails for an extended amount of time...

One thing I'm sure most of these people didn't think about is the effect on their jobs. It's not just the people who lose jobs because they get publicly outed and the employer fires them because the employer doesn't want the hassle.

When you start thinking of all of the jobs that require either a license or some sort of background check where things like felonies are disqualifying events, you're going to get a lot of people who discover they made some very bad decisions.

I get your question and I believe there are charges unique to ones position of trust, like cops, etc. I think they should be hung. Period. Especially if show of badge was involved in a revolution attempt.
Union protection and early retirement statements are a lame, neocon almost Trump like statement. A few might slip through, but a vast majority will pay if identified.
