Gophers vs Dogs: Scoring Goals off Skates

Re: Gophers vs Dogs: Scoring Goals off Skates

Good win tonight by the Gophs. Great game to watch, too, as both teams were pretty darn even.

The refs had two really bad moments.

1. Botched a CFB (obvious): Lamb (tUMD) shoulda been gone.
2. Got in the way of a tUMD guy on a MN breakaway (resulted in a goal). And by got in the way, I mean he basically threw a pick.

Some face-washing and such throughout the game by both teams. Tomorrow's game should be interesting.

Not sure the Bulldog player would have been able to get there in time to stop Fairchild's breakaway anyways, but agreed that was a bad moment nonetheless.

4-0-1 at the DRECC lately for the Gophs. Maybe we want to come back up for the first round. :D

Doesn't matter whether the skater could or couldn't have made it, the possibility was there, and the ref was facing the opposite direction to begin with (or if he wasn't, there's no way he should have been anywhere near the same spot as the bulldog when there's only 4 people in the zone).

Exactly. Now, neither ref *-up cost the game for either team, but the possibility was there. The best refs are the ones who go unnoticed. And tonight? There were two times.

Although other than that, I thought they called a good game.

Re: Gophers vs Dogs: Scoring Goals off Skates

These teams remind me of how evenly matched MSU-M and MN were two seasons ago. As far as justice goes, MN should sweep this series to offset the bull**** outcome from the first half. Then we will more than likely see this decided once and for all in two weeks in Duluth (unless some combo of things happens that sends MN to Grand Forks instead).

Re: Gophers vs Dogs: Scoring Goals off Skates

The Gophers outdid the crying Bulldogs last night. How could they complain because Hummel came offf the bench late and ran into the referee?:D

The Dogs played dirty last night... someone on the Gophers needs to knock Fulton on his *** tonight.

No, they really didn't. Both teams were a little chippy, but nothing was cheap, except for the whole "boarding" thing.

Re: Gophers vs Dogs: Scoring Goals off Skates

It's good to see the UMD students have figured out a way around the "net problem" and are getting hot dogs back on the ice. The only question is was Biddco the ringleader in figuring this out? Just kidding, of course he wasn't. tBulldogsnipers was.
