Gophers @ Tech Road Trip - Planning, Coordination, Taunting, etc.

No. But it'd be difficult to see the BLACK SANDS if they are covered in a foot of snow! :p
You want to go there to see the actual sand? I always thought the best part was the view out over the big lake.

It's a good view. Trouble is, you can see that view from a multitude of other spots. Not everyday you see black "sand." ;)

I believe the stamp sands have been closed off for good. I think they were comprised of waste materials from Coppermines. Stuff like asbestos is in those sands.

stamp sand? why that stuff is good for you. put it on cereal, distill it into liquor, use it for soap, wash your hair with it, put it in trail mix, and it makes great road sand!!! :)

Map of the Bar-Hop. I'm missing some bars, and some markers might be in the wrong spots. I'll probably need help from huskyfan on that part. I don't know what a good choice is in Lake Linden, and I think there should be something in the Mohawk area.

The Legion or Loading Zone. I'd go with the Legion, but I'm not sure about their hours.

I could throw a 5th wheel flatbed trailer on the back of my truck so people could sit on it, and tailgate, maybe grill and play some beer darts between bars.

Whitehouse in Mohawk, and previously mentioned new microbrew in Copper Harbor along with the Zik too

I know Yoopers are a odd bunch but the Copper Country ones are even odder. My theory that the Copper Country is full of strange people because of posts like this :D

We have to be back by 4 for the tailgate, you mean. ;) Sounds good.

And biddy, really?! I know that had the gates and do not enter stuff last summer, but we still got in. Hell, if we have to park the car on the road somewhere or something, I'd be willing to walk. It's a bizarre scene. Of course, if there's snowcover, the point is moot.
You could walk your way onto them. But I think now they are really discouraging people from going on them.

Depends on which ones... There's more than just the sands in Hancock.

Interesting cause they let you snowmobile on them no problem, although that is one place I dont go off trail due the sands constantly shifting I dont need to find sink hole or the big lake the hard way

White house in Mohawk, you've got it. Zik's is THE Copper Harbor bar. And the Mariner and the new brew pub.

Lake Linden, no clue.
