I'm annoyed too. And I'd rather they beat Vetter at 4Nations than in the Olympics. I disagree with Mark's move....but I suppose he's the coach....I haven't lost my faith yet.
I think this is part of it -- when our team wins, we grudgingly admit that the coaches know more than we do. Once they lose, the seeds of doubt are planted. Coaches know billions of things about their team that we are clueless concerning, from who has looked great/terrible in practice to which player was in bed with a 102-degree fever a few hours before the puck dropped. And of course outside the odd person who wanders onto this board with an acute knowledge of the game beyond watching their progeny for years, they really do understand the game better. We are powerless most of the time regarding the fate of our team; our grumbling is one of the few actions we are permitted.
