No -- paid a lot to the man yesterday. BTW, what is YOUR marginal tax rate? On the 1040, it's line 63 / line 43.

Not sure. I can check I suppose. Unfortunately since I'm not rich 100% of my income is taxed at 12%+ before I even get to the Federal Tax Form. Yours too probably. Some people don't count payroll taxes but I do. And since the guys who scream about taxes being theft are the ones who want the programs destroyed that my 12% is going into I think I'm 100% justified in my position.

My 9th grade European History teacher was Armenian. Believe me, we learned about it.

The Turks still have a large number of denialists, down there with the sweethearts who deny the Jewish Holocaust, the extermination of Native Americans, etc. IIRC, Neil Young was convicted in absentia of violating Spanish Law for his song "Cortez, the Killer." (If he'd been convicted of just writing a really awful song nobody would have objected.)

We didn't.

I'm sure if you were to look further back in history, you'd see plenty of other genocides that are no longer brought to light. Remember, Dr. Day's warning spoke of population control. War and genocide are two ways to achieve this. They don't want to population to remember under the excuse of reputation and retaliation, so they can try to pull it off again.

Old School was your tribe moved into an area, killed all the adult males and unappetizing (i.e., over 21) females, enslaved and worked to death all the children, and raped all the hot women so they'd be extending only your bloodline. Not a lot of Canaanites, Edomites, Ammonites etc. left after the Hebrews got through. Most contacts between neighboring peoples in the Iron Age probably ended in genocide, with the winners rewriting history so the losers either didn't exist or were punished by their Invisible Friend.

ISIS and Boko Haram are just keepin' it real. We should use them as anthropology on what the olde tyme religion really looked like.

So, anyone want to answer this? Why is Congress so hell bent on piping in on Iran when they punt on the ISIS War? Jon Stewart, Rachel Maddow, and the Morning Joe Crew all asked this question in the last 24 hours and I think it's a pretty good one.

Iran legislation is a bunch of hooey, granted in a bipartisan fashion, while ISIS war resolution has real consequences.

Lets call the Iran deal for what it is. Its basically a non-binding opinion of Congress on the Iran deal. The only teeth it has it that it freezes Obama's ability to suspend sanctions unilaterally for about 60 days while Congress reviews the deal. There's nothing wrong with that, but if your goal is to stop negotiations or Obama in his tracks this won't do the trick. Lets say Congress hates the deal and passes a resolution to kill it. Obama can veto that resolution and now you need 67 Senators plus dozens of House Dems to vote to override. Getting votes to review the deal is one thing. Getting Dems to kill the deal is another entirely, particularly in the House where Pelosi seems to be able to corral votes at will from her caucus.

ISIS on the other hand puts Congess on the spot as specifically authorizing military action. Small wonder Boner shrunk on this one.
