That's not what the story he linked asserts at all.

If Kepler is even making the effort to do some psychological study on what I post on a message board, then he must think I'm mentally inept. Either that, or he is; he did go to an ivy league school, after all...

Or you could just read it. Perhaps it's even trustworthy.

I have a feeling our Awakened Brethren doesn't get the reference.

I get it that Obama is starting to obsess about his "historical legacy," but why does he so badly want to be this generation's Neville Chamberlain? :(

If Saudi Arabia hasn't already purchased a nuclear weapon from Pakistan, what are the odds that they will have done so by year end?

Not that you'll ever read this, but the Bilderbergs, through various agents such as Obama and the United Nations, are looking to complete what Hitler started over 80 years ago.

For the millions of times the right has accused a Democratic president of appeasement, there's still one irrefutable case of an American president aiding an enemy in pursuit of his political ideology, and one irrefutable case of a president's foreign policy choices boomeranging to severely damage the United States.

Maybe you guys aren't exactly trustworthy on foreign policy.

Or social policy.

Or monetary policy.

Or fiscal policy.

We might as well add how Jimmy Carter's aid to Afghanistan during the Soviet invasion had effects on the growth of turmoil there.

Does anybody else see knuckledraggers yap about "Neville Chamberlain" and start picturing dinosaurs? I doubt any more than .1% of the population including history majors even has the slightest idea who the hell Neville Chamberlain is!

Neville Chamberlain was the British Prime Minister who sold out Czechoslovakia to the Nazis via the Munich Agreement. The reason you are mentioning what you are is because the Bilderbergs don't want the people to remember history, and instead doom them into repeating it.

Which is an indictment of our educational system. Or perhaps "Those that ignore the past will repeat it." (or words to that effect)

People should know who Neville Chamberlain is.

The numbnuts who screech "Munich!!!" every time we do anything short of nuking another country should be told that when they use it, they're saying nothing about their intended target and everything about themselves.

The great irony of that Santayana quote is its original context:

"Progress, far from consisting in change, depends on retentiveness. When change is absolute there remains no being to improve and no direction is set for possible improvement: and when experience is not retained, as among savages, infancy is perpetual. Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it. In the first stage of life the mind is frivolous and easily distracted, it misses progress by failing in consecutiveness and persistence. This is the condition of children and barbarians, in which instinct has learned nothing from experience. ..."

In other words, a person who keeps cranking out the same old lame analogy, decade after decade, despite its lack of relevance to each new situation, learns nothing, and hence is doomed to never advance past the first trial state of a barbarian or a child.

But what if the "same old lame analogy" actually has relevance to each new situation, and barbarians exist to shout a disproof despite evidence of relevance existing, resulting in children being easily distracted by this shout? I'm not saying one or the other is true in this case, only that either or both sides could contain a barbarian.

Neville was just the fall guy for a long line of British politicians who were perpetually scarred by WW-I and (1) wanted to avoid war at all cost and (2) hated communism more than fascism. Stanley Baldwin also deserves a good share of the blame, too.

Too bad there were two monster meglomaniacs on the Continent in the 30's. Tough choice between Joe Stalin and Adolf Hitler as to who you make nice with.
