Yeah, its tough. I'm not sure what percentage of a single year of annual aid given to Israel went to establish a long term secure governing framework for Gaza...but I'd assume almost none. If you don't want to do it for the people in Gaza...do it for Isreal. They didn't even try.

That's where having Likud in power really hurts Israel. But if the Israeli left can't articulate the argument it's their own fault.

A different argument against The Empire.

The irrationality of the U.S. role in these slaughters under the Wolfowitz Doctrine is also evident. They all sought to maintain regional dominance of the U.S. in various areas of the globe. That policy is ill-fitted to any realistic attempt to secure America, simply because it has no criteria of benefit and cost. Markets for security from foreign enemies are non-existent, having long ago been pre-empted by government monopolization of war-making and foreign policy. Lacking such criteria, policymakers do not know how to shape the interventions that are supposed to bring security. They don’t have answers to all the relevant questions: where, who, when, how much. They can’t foresee the results. Furthermore, government is ill-suited to act upon these questions rationally, if only because of the competition within and without government for profits and power that government actions bring.

John Stewart burned her to a crisp. I'd have felt sympathy for her for being in so far over her head if she hadn't helped Cheney & Co. murder > 100k people for personal financial gain.

She's not a war criminal, though. Just a useful idiot that people 20x smarter than she used. And she either still hasn't caught on, or she's spinning desperately to try to get out from under.

I don't ever remember seeing him that worked up in an interview. He kept it together but near the end, his hands were shaking like mine would be speaking to a large crowd.

It was good to see the old man get all riled up.

Judith Miller IS the media. She epitomizes current reporting standards. I laugh when someone says "well it was in the New York Times". The very same paper Miller worked for when she was pimping the war.

Awhile back there was a somewhat noteworthy sports writer in Boston named Will "the Shill" McDonaugh. True to his name, he'd basically put a press release for loathsome owners like the Bruins Jeremy Jacobs in exchange for access. All reporting is now like sports reporting. Its printing whatever your source wants you to with no fact checking as long as its an exclusive. The Lara Logan-60 Minutes fiasco is another more recent example.

Two problems with contemporary supporters of the war that they never seem to acknowledge. Why support a wholesale policy shift from AQ to Iraq? And second, just because Saddam was resistant to compliance doesn't mean that the US is forced to invade.

The collateral damage has been difficult to scope...and it wouldn't surprise me if it includes the extent of the extreme behavior by Putin.

The only time I've seen him like that was when he pinned Jim Cramer to the wall and ripped his wings off.

Stewart is simply trying to distract from the true controversy of our time: BENGHAAAAAAAZIIIIIIIIII!!!11!!!!1!...Never forget.

I was just going to say that...truly brilliant! Cramer spent a month having every NBC station fellate him and make Stewart look like a bully because he called him out for his BS, then Cramer went on his show and Stewart destroyed him. it was glorious cause Cramer is a ****** that is everything that is wrong with Wall Street :)
