Dozens of terror suspects arrested in Europe raids

Associated Press -- BRUSSELS — French, German and Belgian police arrested more than two dozen suspects in anti-terrorism raids Friday, as European authorities rushed to thwart more attacks by people with links to Islamic extremists in the Mideast.

French and German authorities arrested at least 14 other people Friday suspected of links to the Islamic State group. Thirteen more were detained in Belgium and two were arrested in France in an anti-terror sweep following a firefight Thursday in the eastern Belgian city of Verviers.

Two suspected terrorists were killed and a third was wounded in that raid on a suspected terrorist hideout, and federal magistrate Eric Van der Sypt said Friday that the suspects were within hours of implementing a plan to kill police on the street or in their offices.

Belgian authorities were searching for more suspects Friday, and found four military-style weapons including Kalashnikov assault rifles in more than a dozen raids, Van der Sypt said.

Wow, "suspects were within hours of implementing a plan to kill police."

When are we going to admit the harsh reality that they really, truly are at war with us?

Apparently to liberals, they are terrorists. We need Priceless back to do his moral equivalency snark again.

Yeah, we are far more preoccupied with sniping at each other than responding to a common enemy in any coordinated fashion. :(

You've got your Manichean terminology crossed. There are plenty of liberals in AIPAC, and plenty of conservatives who recognize them for the pressure group they are. AIPAC are, proudly, agents of a foreign government. If any other country had such a prominent hold over members of our government it would be investigated for at least improper conduct and potentially treason. It shouldn't matter whether they're pro-Israel, pro-Iran, or pro-Andorra; it's an obvious conflict of interest for American policymakers to kow-tow to that sort of group.

So again... What did that article have to do with AIPAC?

Canadian spec ops vs ISIS. He shoots, he scores

"My troops had completed a planning session with senior Iraqi leaders several kilometers behind the front lines," Canadian special forces commander Brigadier General Michael Rouleau said.

"When they moved forward to confirm the planning at the front lines in order to visualize what they had discussed over a map, they came under immediate and effective mortar and machine gunfire."

The general said the Canadians used sniper fire to "neutralize both threats" and there were no Canadian injuries.

Ask 100 people in the street to find the US on a map.

Jay Leno used to do this his Jay Walking bits. It's scary how many Americans can't find either Mexico or Canada on a map of North America.

I have always hoped this is because you interview 100 people, then only broadcast the dumbest 5.

Please do not disabuse me of that notion. It's what keeps me going.

I had a roommate in college who attended the tech college (not SCSU) in town, he honestly thought D.C. was in Washington state, and this was after me making comment to another roommate that not knowing where _____ is, is like not knowing where Washington, D.C. is. Then a third roommate chimed in that she agreed with the Washington state answer (she "dropped out" of the tech school because of bad grades - again, not SCSU). Apparently, this country was founded by the European settlers on the West coast and Manifest Destiny propelled us eastward towards Europe.

If you don't know...follow someone who's certain. Its how some politicians gets elected (not just referring to the 6th district here).

My favorite geography fail:

A colleague was going to a conference in Louisiana. He wrote down for the admin that took care of travel that he needed X days in "New Orleans, LA". She came back to him later and said that she couldn't find a "New Orleans" hotel in Los Angeles.

So, I happened to notice some changes to the Army camouflage uniform. First off, the name plate has been moved from the breast to the right arm. Also, instead of the tan that was used for Iraq/Afghanistan, the colors are now much darker, andn very similar to the coniferous trees that are seen in North America. Add freedoms being assaulted, and I think you can tell who the next enemy is.

Blame Canada!

Mr. Parinoia, the family members I have in the Army have told me that our military has a little more than 30 active camouflage designs in current use for BDUs (battle dress uniform). It's been that way for a long time. Just because you're noticing a different BDU in the news for the first time doesn't mean a dang thing.

Just wait until they are ordered to attack on you.

Your tin foil is leaking. Again.

And your signature file is an abortion of a signature file. You can see the coat hangers everywhere in that thing.
