A shooting at a synagogue in the German city of Halle on Wednesday was a far-right terror attack, said Justice Minister Christine Lambrecht.

Alleged perpetrator Stephan Balliet had four kilos (9lb) of explosives in his car, Ms Lambrecht said in a statement with attorney-general Peter Frank.

Mr Frank said the gunman had been planning a massacre.

I've been to Halle; it is a lovely city (and in how many cities is the most beautiful building the Mint?). F-ck these people are f-ck everybody who plays up to them, from Berlin to Birmingham, AL. I'm sick to death of these Nazi cowards.

I was wondering which one, because there are two cities named Halle. Looks like it was Halle am Saale.

A San Diego County man is in police custody after posting graphic videos on YouTube where he appeared to be practicing a mass shooting, police said.

Steven Homoki, 30, was arrested on Thursday on suspicion of possession of an assault weapon, possession of a high capacity magazine and child endangerment, San Diego police said in a statement Friday.

In the videos, Homoki is seen in a San Diego hotel room with several guns, magazines and bullets. The video, obtained by NBC San Diego, appears to shows Homoki loading the guns, crawling on a bullet-strewn floor, loading guns and pointing the weapons at pedestrians out the window.

“Hours after Esper made his remarks, a suspected drone strike killed a senior Shiite militia figure traveling in a vehicle near Baghdad airport Thursday night. The strike, which the militias were blaming on the United States, could signal a sharp new escalation of tensions in Iraq between the United States and Iran.


A statement from the Popular Mobilization Forces, the leadership of the umbrella organization grouping Shiite militias, said the strike targeted a convoy of two vehicles, killing the group’s head of protocol, Mohammed Ridha, along with an unidentified number of “guests” whom he was escorting from the airport.
There was immediate speculation that the guests may have included Iranians who traveling to Baghdad through the airport, where U.S. troops are based alongside Iraqi security forces. Hisham al-Hashemi, a political analyst close to the government, tweeted that three Iranians were among the dead.
There were reports of gunfire erupting in the airport vicinity at the time of the strike, and the Iraqi Army command said three Katyusha rockets, which are typically fired by Iranian backed militias, exploded nearby.”
