No. If you want to protect you address you petition the court to seal it, and if there is good cause (danger to the person, common in, for example, stalking cases or with domestic violence victims who have gotten out) the court will keep your address private.

That is the most plausible procedure, it seems to me.

But the article has some strange information in it. Near the end it indicates that his attorney actually tried to file the address under seal, to keep it private, but was opposed by the prosecution. Seems odd to me why they'd oppose the public disclosure of it.

Edit. I guess I'm still not sure why they wouldn't have at least asked the court to allow it to be private, over the prosecution's objections.

I would also think that if you were claiming the whole "fear for my safety" thing, you wouldn't be going out to bars and letting people take your pictures.

I think the bigger problem is that they don't really have any hard evidence of threats. The one email they submitted is graphic enough. The problem is, the email was sent to Rittenhouse's lawyer, not even Rittenhouse himself. Also, it doesn't make any direct threats of harm to Rittenhouse. It just suggests that Kyle can look forward to an active sex life in prison, sort of.

I have to assume that's about as bad a communication as they've received, because I don't know why you'd hold worse ones back, so I don't know if that would be enough for the judge to grant the request, since I have no idea what Wisconsin law looks like in that regard.

No. The first tip was that a defense attorney is citing the police for his guidance. No defense attorney ever asks the police for anything court related.

That was the part that got me. I get trying to conceal his address for safety (not lying to the court which can be criminal) but what attorney is taking advice to lie to the court from the cops? That is Law and Order level crap right there.

I assume the lawyer is in some serious trouble possibly? I gotta think the judge won't be thought of highly either after all of this. White Privilege is just the worst.

Looks like AOC has no issue fighting back which is now leading to quite the war on Social Media between a GOPer no one knows and well...everyone with a functioning brain. Fact Check Superhero is having none of it.

edit way late: If you read the comments you will see tweets from the GOPer in question that contradict her whole narrative. AOC is being dragged through the mud because a frosh Rep is embarrassed she was scared too and admitted it on Faux and Twitter. What a POS.

So Flynn gave an interview where he said Trump never signed the Insurrection Act, the military is not in charge and there is no plan. So the Qucumbers are now doubling down saying he just confirmed all of it is true cause he used to work in intelligence.

Conservatives' 2A rights infringed.

Christian Michael Mackey, 20, was charged via criminal complaint with unlawful sale of a firearm. FBI agents arrested him at a parking lot near his home in Grand Prairie Friday evening. He made his initial appearance in federal court before U.S. Magistrate Judge Irma Carrillo Ramirez Monday. A detention hearing has been set for 1 p.m. Wednesday.

...

According to the complaint, Mr. Mackey regularly posted in online chats organized by the Iron Youth, a Neo-Nazi white nationalist group dedicated to national socialism, militancy, and political terror. The group espouses “siege” ideology – using a series of anti-government terrorist attacks to instigate a race war.

On Instagram, Mr. Mackey said he liked “control and killing,” called himself a “radical jew slayer,” and vowed he would “die attacking the sustem [sic].” He urged fellow group members to kill Jews and African Americans.

That dickless loser doesn't have the guts to even stand near a jew (or African American) let alone try and kill one.

I'd like Herr Master Race to meet my friend.
