I know and it's quite the conundrum. Seems odd to say this a few days after he scored a goal, but it's not his job to score goals, so I say Burgdoerfer. I get the feeling he would have been a healthy scratch once or twice in the last stretch if they'd had the depth to be able to afford it. Jensen has definitely been a revelation during Bergin's absence, no doubt about it, but I'm still giving priority to the top 5 - Bergin, Foss, Kennedy, Merth, and Brutlag.

I realized that "should" was in quotes. My comment was not meant to indicate that you were inaccurate. :)

I don't know if it was SA's game plan or the openings were just there, but our D seemed to be crashing the net all evening, with Brutlag, Burgdoerfer, and Jensen all scoring goals.

For once, I'm not all that bummed not to be able to watch any of the games- I'm assuming our hotel in Boise won't have any coverage. Since Michigan is universally struggling, I just have to lean on my Vandals (who are playing in the Most Lame, I mean, Humanitarian Bowl on the 30th.. at least it's a bowl- more than Michigan :rolleyes: ).

The way UM has been playing this year, I can't make any predictions, except one- if UM beats the crap out of RPI, I will openly predict that MSU will beat them the next night- probably a shutout. Other than that, I would not be surprised by any other outcome- RPI win followed by a beat down of Tech, or two losses, or whatever. Could even be a really horrible win against RPI, and a crushing win against MSU- especially since the game would mean nothing in the CCHA.

Who knows.

In fact this year I may just play it safe and cheer for RPI.

That's pretty much all I'm hoping for out of this GLI. Or for Tech to play Michigan so CTF can lose her bet to the tune of a couple hundred dollars. :D

It could easily be more than a couple hundred. :D :o

I would love to see an RPI vs. MTU "Nerd Fight" for the title and to laugh at UM/MSU battling in the 3rd place game, but that scenario stands about a snowball's chance in hell of happening.

Yeah, people even get married in Hell as a novelty. My favorite was the story of a couple who had both been divorced twice already, and had therefore been through hell twice before. So, they decided they might as well start there for the third. :D

If I can go the whole trip without having to watch MTU play, I will call that a success regardless of where RPI ends up placing in the tournament.

Let me also pile on and say that this is the worst pun-theme thread title I've ever seen. I advocate deleting this and starting over.

I was so entranced by the thread topic title I almost forgot this was the official GLI thread. Hope we are at full strength (minus D'Amigo of course) so at least we can give the folks the best we have. Are any of these games telecast nationally so that Comcast Cable has them?
