Ginding away- stop putting sand in my oil... Part 4

Re: Ginding away- stop putting sand in my oil... Part 4

Just about everything is grinding my gears.

The nurse that completely useless continues to make my life miserable. If I hear one more time how "that's it she's gone" I think I will throttle someone.

The idjits at church who think it is OK to put 3 yr old Sun school class in a room that is attached to my High school room and requires they walk thru 10 minutes into class time, come back out into our space to use the bathroom and that they think will do OK if the teachers keep them quiet GRINDS MY GEARS. This is labeled the youth (as in High School) area. Tell the kids they are important and again reneg on the promise they own the space. Tell my kids to be careful not to be to loud when we are talking about stuff like sex, drugs and rock n'roll. Have other adults in the room connected and parents who need to come in and out to get their kids is just brilliant. Like we are going to get anything out of them. Compound that they asked the kids to try it and if it doesn't work then they won't do it. It didn't work and now they thank us for being flexible and FU we are doing it anyway. Um- these are the kids we ae supposed to be trying to get to stay, the ones who feel disenfranchised, who historically end up leaving and stop going to church. These are the age group of kids they tell us they are trying to engage. Who the F do they think they are kidding. What mental champion thinks it is a good idea to put teens and 3 yr olds in the same space??!!1!!1!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

Oops!!! I thought it would be a good idea for the 3 yr olds to learn about sex drugs and rock n roll early...they'll learn it anyways! :D

Re: Ginding away- stop putting sand in my oil... Part 4

Either that or they learn nothing cos the kids say squat no they don't have a private place to say anything.

Re: Ginding away- stop putting sand in my oil... Part 4

This may have been said before, but - people who "reply all" to e-mails. C'mon people, e-mail is not a new tool. You should know by now that you hit reply most of the time and reply all only when you really mean it! Everyone in my firm just got an e-mail from some yahoo complaining to HR about something messed up in his benifits in reply to an e-mail from HR.

Re: Ginding away- stop putting sand in my oil... Part 4

Okay, this didn't grind my gears - I just found it highly amusing...

When I worked at Lockheed, they started an initiative to help young employees network with each other, so they sent out a mass email (*not* BCCed) to hundreds of young employees to let them know about the upcoming opportunities. Within an hour, there were about 100 messages in my inbox, ranging from "this is a great idea" to "let's have drinks tonight at Billy Bob's Bar" to "please take me off this list," and, my personal favorite, "I'M NOT WEARING ANY PANTS!!!!" Only after that did the secretary for the VP who started the networking initiative chime in to point out that the VP himself was also on the list and that perhaps a little more professional decorum was in order. There were then about 15 people who replied-all to apologize for replying-all. America's best and brightest, no doubt...

First A
Just about everything is grinding my gears.

And then B.
Okay, this didn't grind my gears - I just found it highly amusing...

So if we add A + B, making sure the kids in SS loudly proclaim "I'M NOT WEARING ANY PANTS!!!!"

What, then, is C? :)

Re: Ginding away- stop putting sand in my oil... Part 4

I went to the bank to ask for a loan. I have money in said bank (equal to roughly what I was asking for) and have done business there for 13 years with no issues in about a decade. The meeting lasted 2 minutes to which I learned if I wanted the loan I needed roughly 27k in liquid assets just to even consider applying. (no the loan was not for 27k...it was for less than 1/3 of that) If I had 27k in liquid assets why the hell would I be there looking for a loan?

Now I know someone is going to say something about how stupid my gripe is and standard bank practices and blah blah blah...I dont care. Needless to say I have no reason to be loyal to said bank any more.

These so-called occupiers in Boston. Watched them all run when the riot police showed up last night. Do me a favor and actually figure out what you're protesting and what you actually want to happen, and then maybe we'll talk.

I saw the same thing in Chicago last weekend. They were all protesting different things, from war to Israel to the 99%, and the Chicago police department had this expression of "do we really have to follow these clowns?"

I think you need to go camp out on the park by the Henn. County Govt. Center. That'll show them! BTW, I assume my tax dollars are paying for all the portable toilets lined up there to serve these people, right? I heard the bill for the cops in NYC has passed $2M. I'm sure that's helping the economic crisis now isn't it?

You realize that most of these knobs are from privilaged families?

Re: Ginding away- stop putting sand in my oil... Part 4

That signal on your car is supposed to be used to let people know what you are GOING to do, not what you have already done. It grinds my gears when people slam on their brakes, then signal and turn.

Re: Ginding away- stop putting sand in my oil... Part 4

Health care providers, and company options.

I'm irritated that my company is dropping my health care option starting Jan 1. Sucks.

And it's just as bad that all of my new options do NOT cover the physical therapy that I currently have. They cover the therapy, but not the location. Stupid.

On a more specific front, how in the world did HAP get a JD award for customer service. As a potential customer, the number that I was given aks 3 times for your member number before giving up, and making you wait quite a bit more. #2- the local people here doing a "show" on it said- "you have to be paitent and wait- as if that's ok, instead of hitting 0 as a new customer. #3- when asked a very specific question like "who are the PT providers"- it took 10 min to answer that, and the answer was "should". "Should" does not mean yes, and is not a great way of selling your wares to me. Basically, the JD Power awards are usless here, too. Customer service. not.

Re: Ginding away- stop putting sand in my oil... Part 4

There's a business I have to pass by to & from work that has a loading dock the length of a semi trailer away from the edge of the street - no lot or drive for trucks to maneuver in. So when they get a delivery the driver has to pull across both lanes of the street to line himself up, then back in, then pull forward again to straighten out, then back in again, then once more forward and back - unless it's a new guy (or worse - a chick :p) then it's like 5 more times back and forth - all the while traffic is backing up on the street in both directions. Man that's more annoying than waiting for a train.

I work in a light industrial area. Same deal. The pros are quick, but the new drivers? Ugh. Terrible. And yeah, we can tell.
