Re: Ginding away- stop putting sand in my oil... Part 4

I am...I will basically be forced to see them one more time (at a mutual friends cancer benefit) but beyond that I will make zero effort at friendship.

Oh that reminds me...Cancer grinds my gears!

That goes without saying. At this point almost everyone knows someone who has/had cancer. So it should grind everyones gears, it dies for me.

we have a loud sniffler. I repeat, there is a loud sniffler in quietland. blow your dmn nose already! I might throw my box of Kleenex at her head to emphasize my point. At least this appears to be a seasonal thing, and not a daily thing.

xyz, re: your rep - the throat clearer and I parted ways when we moved to a different building 2 years ago. funny thing is, I had a little deja vu of my former boss complaining to me once, years ago, that he sat by someone that cleared her throat all day long and it was driving him crazy - and I made fun of him. After my experience, I'm sure it was her (I didn't know her then). karma is a btch. :D

The guy sitting in front of me on my flight home today tried to recline his seat the entire flight, constantly smashing it into my knees. Hey *******, your ****ing seat can't go back anymore, its not my fault, my knees are physically in the way! Hopefully he gets hit by a bus tonight.

Did you kick his seat? I would have struggled to not exaggerate EVERY leg movement.

Had a referee in my soccer game last night who was %*#$ing clueless. Gives the opposing team a penalty kick when I slide in....made FULL contact with the ball....the little moron jumped over me...took 2 steps and flopped to the ground. Fortunately I saved the shot. Later in the same match...one of my guys is almost clean through to goal and the defender chops at his leg sending him flying.....no booking on the guy who committed the foul....but my teammate gets booked for dissent for dropping an F-Bomb as he hit the ground.

At that point I was so mad I couldn't even swear.

To be fair, just because you contact the ball first doesn't mean you aren't committing a foul.

I made no contact with the player. He jumped over me. As a goalkeeper, if I slide in and take the ball with my arms and secure it...its a totally legal play. I did not go from behind, nor did I make overt movement to take the player down. It was a total Serie A style dive.

Ah, when you said slide, I assumed you meant slide tackle. You're probably right. I used to play keeper as well so I can completely relate on the need to slide in.

Also, contact isn't required for a foul.

Ok you're starting to grind my gears! :p:D

Re: Ginding away- stop putting sand in my oil... Part 4

So are you able to grind your own gears that way? Make a bad call, and you can complain about the ref. :)

Exactly...lol

Naw..my job keeps me about 50 hours a week. I do get to play twice a week...guessing I might as well play as much as I can before I get married!

Ditto. I'd love to make a few grand on the side, but honestly, I just don't need it. I value my Tuesdays, Thursdays, and those few summer weekends where I did tourneys, more than I value the extra cash.

Usually I'm in the aisle seat, and whenever that happened, I'd have my leg in the aisle. The steward/ess asks me to put my feet behind the seat, I tell her why I cannot do that. Boom. Easy solution to the problem. She tells the passenger ahead of me to put up the seat. I'm not that tall (6'2") but I have long limbs. It's really annoying on flights.

Oh, I definitely did. Not necessarily on purpose, but I couldn't move my legs without his seat moving. Brent, I usually try to get ailes, but when you get put on a flight 3 hours before takeoff, you don't have much choice. Also, this guy was that ******* that the flight attendant had to ask 3 times before he put his ipod away before landing, he just an all out ****ing *******. Did I mention that he was wearing an Edina Hornet's windbreaker? No, seriously, he was.

I'd have punched him on principle alone.
