Ginding away- stop putting sand in my oil... Part 4

Re: Ginding away- stop putting sand in my oil... Part 4

People that don't pay attention when they are sitting in the turn lane at a stop light, so when the light turns they don't move for 5 seconds grind my gears. Because the turn arrows are so short around here, this usually means that only 2-3 cars can make the light. So the huge line of cars backed up in the turn lane has to keep on waiting because some moron was checking his texts messages instead of watching the traffic light.

Nancy Grace. She might be the most singularly irritating person on TV. At least people like Obberman, Stern, Beck are so out there they are like charactertures. This chick is an 'expert'. If she were to get permanent larygitis I would be happy.

Agreed. I haven't seen her for at least five years. Something in her voice drives my dog bonkers. Perhaps some problem involving itching in a private place when she's out in public.

Nancy Grace is bird in the California highlands. Plain and simple.

Thinking I may have kidney stones does not do things to make me happy. Feels like a mix between a broken rib and vice being squeezed on my kidney.

The fact that not having a job doesn't seem to be grinding my gears grinds my gears.

Not having a full-time job since about a week after Obama's <strike>coronation</strike> inauguration grinds at me.

Having part-time jobs that allow me lots of time to play lots of golf doesn't grind at me. :)

Stupid crockpots that do not have an indicator that it is on grind my gears. Did up a whole pot of stew. Plugged in the pot on the porch to keep the heat out of the house. Stupid plug was on a switch which if you haven't guessed was OFF  I wanted stew. Then I turned it off to bring it in and plug it into a real plug. After an hour there was some condensation on the lid but....forgot to turn the thing on. Mr. Les is now making pasta. He decided I was a menace in the kitchen. He just came through and told me he was going to put the box of penne next to the pan and say it was al a dente. :p

So went to the Doc... ran a bunch of tests and blood work. No findings. Pain got so bad (8.5-9 out of 10) that I went to the ER as I was instructed. They seemed perplexed why I was there and said, well we can rule out all of these things, but it may be this. Instead of testing for "this" they say go see a specialist. That's awesome, first available appointment after calling around, September 26th. Fantastic.

Hearing "we have no future, but you are a really awesome guy" or some variation of that. :(

A friend of mine freezing me out. Ya know it is bad enough that she and her issues occupied much of my time the last few years (including any and all help I gave with her kids...which was a LOT!) but now she has everything she wants (her terrible marriage is all but over and she is moving in with her new boyfriend) and now she has no time to even talk to me? Ya know I am used to being taken advantage of it is a frequent problem in my life but this one really friggin hurts because not only is she doing it but she is almost flaunting it.

A lot of people say I am just being paranoid about it, but even if I am her behavior is so rude and inconsiderate it doesnt matter anyways. I ask for next to nothing out of the friendship and offer pretty much everything and this is the thanks I get. I dont have some overinflated sense of self worth or anything, I am sure that despite the nice things I do I am annoying as all hell but I dont friggin care, I deserve way better than this. One of the big reasons she is where she is right now is because of me and now things are great so adios Dave.

Yes I am about to pour a huge drink and feel sorry for myself...sue me :p

Maybe you remind her of all the yucky stuff she wants to forget. After all you were there for most of it. Kind of like if you have a car accident on a certain road you get reminded everytime you drive down it. Doesn't excuse her behavior but it happens :(.

It does happen (I dont think that is it but it could very well be) but she knows she could tell me that and I would volunteer to back off for a while. The lack of any communication on this whole thing is what kills the most because for all I know I am completely wrong. But the more evidence that piles up and nothing to contradict it from her just makes it ten times worse.

Sitting around waiting for UPS while watching 3 UPS trucks drive by this morning.

Re: Ginding away- stop putting sand in my oil... Part 4

Is there a reason why I cannot post in threads here all of a sudden while using Chrome? I don't have the same issue in other forums (using IE here for now).

Re: Ginding away- stop putting sand in my oil... Part 4

1. People above me in the org chart who drag their feet and/or don't respond to emails in a timely manner

2. Technology problems - need to remote login to a development server, but can't because that computer's Windows Server 2008 license was allowed to expire. Seriously, OS/networking teams? *facepalm*

Both of these are delaying my projects and leaving me with little to do on a Friday, which grind my gears.

Re: Ginding away- stop putting sand in my oil... Part 4

People who show up to meetings late and then think their opinion is all that matters. **** YOU, if you dont respect me to be on time to my meeting, then i really dont give a **** what you think, the same guy has burned me twice

Re: Ginding away- stop putting sand in my oil... Part 4

My kid is grinding my gears. He has a summer project due the first day he goes back to school. He is in honors classes but has the motivation of a flubberworm. Just enough to get by. We have plans to go away for the Labor Day weekend. He needs to be done by Friday night and has practices all week. Kid has no need to accomplish anything. His attitude sucks. So. We are down to no phone, no TV, no computer and no itouch. If it isn't done one of us is staying home so he can finish it. He thinks that we are kidding. Ah...no.
