Re: GET IN THE VAN! Michigan Tech 2009-10 Season Thread, Part Deux

You're planning on sleeping in a snow sculpture?

I'll probably be there, but maybe not as early as last year...

I know I'm going, I have no idea when nor where I'll be staying...
I am a fan of the Ren Cen, except for the sad lack of pool/hot tub. Last time I stayed there, I was on the 63rd floor. It was pretty sweet.
I will if I have to, but I'm hoping my sister doesn't hang me out to dry like that...

Mariott's website says they have a pool and a hot tub...they even had pictures of it.

Re: GET IN THE VAN! Michigan Tech 2009-10 Season Thread, Part Deux

Oh we WILL be up there. That's the only detail we have worked out though. Some kinda important things to figure out before then: when we're leaving Fargo, where we're staying, whether or not I want to go to DT (we all know what happens), when we're leaving Houghton, that sorta stuff. Also, where in our vicinity we can buy Tech attire :D
You want to go to the DT. :p

Hm. That's new then. Either that or they decided to not let the hoards of college students and band members in there...

Re: GET IN THE VAN! Michigan Tech 2009-10 Season Thread, Part Deux

I have never been there, so all I know is what was online, they **** well better have the pool in these pictures.

Double check your location. That says the Courtyard Downtown, with a view of the Renaissance Center..

And I must have done Carny wrong last year, 'cause at no point was I passed out in a snowbank.

Well thats the hotel we're staying at, according to the map it is attached to the ren center, but I have no clue, since I've never been there. I really don't care if it is attached to the ren center, as long as it has a pool and hot tub.:p

Re: GET IN THE VAN! Michigan Tech 2009-10 Season Thread, Part Deux

I've passed out in a snowbank before. Ah college, how I miss it.

Re: GET IN THE VAN! Michigan Tech 2009-10 Season Thread, Part Deux

I'll be down there for Tuesday and Wednesday more than likely, I'm staying with family in Canton...so half hour away from the Joe, unless the family turns down the free lodging than some place in downtown will have to suffice, sadly I still will not be 21 by then...
Canton is only about 15 mins to the Joe, actually. Side note, I can house some at my parent's house when I am down there for the F4. I live in New Hudson (Basically Brighton), right off of 96 which is 30-35 mins from the Joe.

I don't know Gulk, the old one still has some life left in it.
Sure it does, just use third person talk, people.

Re: GET IN THE VAN! Michigan Tech 2009-10 Season Thread, Part Deux

If everything works out I will be staying within view of 8-mile.

I'm not sure when I will be getting down there though, I still need to talk to BPH about that.

You rang?

As long as you can get back to Wisconsin alright, I can probably get you there. Drop me an email through my user profile, or at my Tech address.

Its ok, I'll probably not want to hang out with you ****ers those nights anyways. Use your imagination to figure out why :D

Good, since I'd rather not see you hanging out. :p

Re: GET IN THE VAN! Michigan Tech 2009-10 Season Thread, Part Deux

So many n00bs!

Hey, look at this crap:
Code:
Penalty Kill: Totals SHF PCT
  1 North Dakota 47/ 51 1 92.2
  2 Wisconsin 45/ 49 1 91.8
  3 Colorado College 46/ 53 2 86.8
  4 Denver 44/ 51 1 86.3
  5 St. Cloud State 35/ 41 3 85.4
  6 Alaska Anchorage 65/ 77 3 84.4
  7 Minnesota 41/ 50 3 82.0
  8 Minnesota Duluth 58/ 73 2 79.5
  9 Minnesota State 55/ 70 0 78.6
 10 Michigan Tech 42/ 66 2 63.6
WHAT THE HELL?! It makes me SICK. God, how low can this go? Although as Biddco pointed out me, we did play the top 3 PP's:

Code:
Power Play: Totals SHA PCT
  1 Colorado College 19/ 60 0 31.7
  2 Minnesota Duluth 22/ 83 2 26.5
  3 North Dakota 14/ 59 2 23.7
  4 Denver 10/ 57 1 17.5
  5 St. Cloud State 10/ 59 1 16.9
  6 Minnesota State 8/ 55 1 14.5
  7 Michigan Tech 7/ 53 2 13.2
  8 Minnesota 6/ 48 1 12.5
  9 Wisconsin 7/ 58 2 12.1
 10 Alaska Anchorage 8/ 68 4 11.8
Still. We need to do better. The first thing I propose is STAYING OUT OF THE GD BOX.

Thank god it's a bye week!

Btw, I apologize for the hockey talk. Getting tired of the other crap. However, I will admit that the road trip reminiscing at the end of the last thread put a smile on my face. I hope that the Misfit youngins who went on the UMD road trip are now road trippers for life... because hockey road tripping is more than just hockey. It's the road tripping! It's about picking up skanks in your motel stairwells. It's about getting kissed on TV in front of the tens of people that watch ESPNU. It's about throwing your hat on the ice at the Mariucci and having the entire student section doing their A**HOLE chant at you. It's about ditching an exam that's 25% of your grade when you're already getting like a C or D in the class to do more fun things in Colorado Springs. It's about sunshining your rookie goaltender after he STOLE a game from the other team who should have won. It's about taking Bunger's pickle and eating it. It's about being made Fan in the Stands by Ciskie. It's about seeing glaciers and driving alongside moose on the highway. It's about the Red Pepper, Italian Moon, Golden Bee, Coot's, Val's, MC's Dugout, Blue Brick's, Sally's, Metler's, Grandma's, Spanky's, Peanut Gallery, etc., etc., etc.! It's about going out after the game with opposing fans and talking about anything but hockey. It's about giving the Kohl Center staff hell EVERY TIME you visit. It's about the cop walking away after scolding you muttering under her breath, "****ing *****." It's about forming a group of makeshift Providence fans together and cheering for PC against stupid MSUcks. It's about getting arrested in St. Cloud and waking up in jail having no idea what happened the night before. It's about buying pink drinks at KK's for UW hockey players. It's about all the people you meet, the places you visit and the things you experience. Hockey is only a minuscule fraction of a "hockey road trip."

If a good road trip is based solely on hockey, let's face it... I would probably not like hockey road trips as much as I do. So to all the new road trippers out there... fun and adventure lurks around every corner of a hockey road trip... not just in the hockey rink. I hope you all are able to add to my list of stories and examples why hockey road trips are so great. :)

What she said

Also, CC, UMD, and UND all have the Top 3 powerplays largely because they've lit up our penalty kill. :o

What about singing "Don't Stop Believin" without shirts on, in the parking lot, in Anchorage, when it is -35 degrees in January?

Along with the TONS of other things I left out. As you can see, that post is pretty lengthy as it is. Too many examples to include. But yes, you have another good one there to add to the list. :)

It must be a sorry sack of **** team that is worse than us in combined special teams!

edit: it is Mercyhurst...

and the top scoring offenses are:
1. Cornell
2. Quinnipiac
3. Merrimack
4. Wisconsin
5. Union

2 of the most trap-happy defensive teams in the country, two of the most inept teams of the last 20 years and Quinnipiac? w.t.f.
