Can we get Ron Wilson? He's coaching a whole NHL team and doing a great job, especially with their record in recent half-centuries

Yeah, for the Misfits, the party bus would be a great option. And once its paid for, it would stand a chance at being able to earn the Misfits a little extra cash by making it available on weekends when the Misfits really don't have anything planned. I'm sure there would be some frats and or other student groups at Tech that would be interested in renting the bus for other things when its not hockey season. It would be pretty easy for a frat to organize a trip to a MLB game in either Milwaukee, TC, Chicago and Detroit. On home series weekends, it might be possiable for the misfits to rent the bus to the local Packer Backers so they can make a trip down to Lambeau perhaps. That sort of thing.

One of the fraternities (ΣΦΕ?) has an old school bus with script Huskies painted on the side. Maybe the Misfits could work out a time share? :D

The Hanes sniffers are content to wait for now, understanding that the team is quite young and is going to show flashes of brilliance in a season of difficult learning experiences.
I fixed your post; and I would think the flashes of brilliance would be enough to hold your interest.

The hiring/firing decision will not be ours to make anyway

Really? All this time I thought we had a say in it.

I politely suggest you write or call or every major donor at your earliest convenience to express your concerns.
Yea, I'm betting they're all happy with the current state and have no concerns about the rosy past and bright looking future. Fortunately, they will likely be the reason a change is made; not Mrs. Sanregret.

Re: GET IN THE VAN! Michigan Tech 2009-10 Season Thread, Part Deux

Hey, you named the first potential candidate! And he has a winning record; something the tech coaching staff isn't familiar with.
Look at FTB&G's signature...2006-07 Tech's record of 18-17-5 is a winning record, so they are familiar with one...

Re: GET IN THE VAN! Michigan Tech 2009-10 Season Thread, Part Deux

One for seven; not to shabby according to the standards of the patient and tolerable posters on here.

You know, if all you care about are winning records, you could always be a Sioux fan...

Awesome, JSR is back. Glad that I logged on to see more of this nonsense.

Root for another team, we don't want you. You're like Foxton, but not as much fun to rip on, therefore there isn't a single good reason for you to be here.

Random comment that has nothing to do with anything that has been talked about at all...

YouTube needs to have a repeat button or something so that, when I'm listening to a song or watching something awesome, I don't have to go back every couple minutes and press the play button over and over again.

Just something I've thought about.

Please, God no. I know it's only because you want Miley Cyrus: Party in the USA to be looped 24/7.

Jock sniffer? No way. I'm for giving Russell 2-3 more years, and seeing how he does with the next couple of junior & senior classes, and monitoring how the recruiting goes. If he doesn't have another decent season in that time (and write this down, because you can hold me to it), I'll probably be ready to advocate a coaching change.

You have to understand that I started following this program (and college hockey in general) in 06-07, and so my foremost memories are of what this coaching staff can do with the right group of players. The reality is that this isn't the 70s and college hockey has changed immeasurably. No matter who is in the head coach's office, Tech is no longer going to be competing for home ice every season. We have to be patient and expect that the goal is home ice and NCAAs every 3-4 seasons.

As for Joe Burcar being the "first potential candidate", please tell me you are joking. You would really hire a coach at a mediocre D3 school in a second-tier D3 conference, who was fired for violating internal policies at Finlandia?

Someone should do that for this thread.
