I just love hearing that "being trans is a choice."

It's been between 75-85 in Michigan over the past week.

Dealing with boob and ball sweat simultaneously is NOT FUN.

I never dreamed that I would be sharing a video from Fox News but here we are. I'm not sure how this made it past the network watchdogs and onto the air, but this is an excellent piece. The bonus is that it has gotten the hotheads all riled up and calling for the reporter and anyone involved in the story to be fired (because they hate cancel culture, you know)

Hopefully the fact that this aired on Fox News will open the eyes of people who viewed it. It's also easier to share with your relatives who aren't going to pay attention to links from Commie sites like CNN, but will be thrilled to see a link from Fox. Enjoy.

I am surprised that story aired on Fox News.

My brother and his family are on the move this week. My sister-in-law posted a heart felt goodbye to family and friends in Texas saying they could deal with the heat, hurricanes, and power grid disruptions but not the current political environment. Stating they feel like political refugees as they move to a state with better protections for their son. Hopefully Washington is good to them, and my nephew gets the chance to play soccer on a team (Texas wouldn't let him play on the school's boy team, and he's not going to play on a girls team). They are thankful they have the means to move and feel bad for those who don't.

I feel bad for the kids having to leave their friends as well. Bro and fam spent Friday night at my parents (after seeing the moving truck off). I got a text from my mom Saturday when bro left Houston, Mom was crying. My parents moved to Houston to be near my bro and the grandkids. Bro and fam drove to Austin Saturday and spent the night at sister-in-law's parent's house. Sunday the kids turned 13, and spent 11 hours of their birthday being driven to Albuquerque. 2+ more days of driving and they'll be in their new home.

We need to do better as a country. Screw State's rights if states are busy taking away human rights.

The right has decided that "rights" mean "my right to limit your rights".

And my freedom is the freedom to curtail your freedom.

That's because the Right thinks "everybody knows" they THEY are the real Americans and everybody else (minorities, other faiths and preferences and identities, liberals, recent immigrants) are people they allow to be here.

The Right thinks the US is just another ethnostate like Germany or France. We're a luxury, and during times of austerity America cannot "afford" us. That's why I always bite back when somebody here says "the US sucks." It's NOT the US, it's the Right that sucks. This is a great country, because of what we have done. So let's take our birthright and run with it. The fascists can stew as a permanent minority. We will protect their rights because that's what we do. And ironically they will even prosper because we will do something about the Plutocracy, to which they are slavish followers.

While scrolling through the cable guide this weekend, I saw the movie “ladybugs” was on. Movie with Rodney dangerfirld as a man who has his son dress up as a girl to play on a girls soccer team.

Everyone’s worse nightmare!!

The whole trope of "trans people are confused and don't know who they are" is projection from those who have no sense of identity or tie their entire sense of self to their jobs.

It's not just kids. My peers and I heard it when we came out in our 30s. And for society to tell us "you need psych evals to have any affirming procedures because you might regret it" is an extension of the "you don't know who you are" argument.

How about its gender swapped remake She’s The Man?

I think "psych eval" would make my opinion sound much more harsh than I intend, but I do think those considering a transition (or battling with gender identity, or fucking anyone that wants help) should absolutely seek therapy/mental health assistance/whatever you'd like to call it. But then, again, I think a whole lot of people could benefit from some sort of therapy.
