So they connected two different types of metal piping, metal is metal right?
I’ve been concerned about that in my house. It was built in 1955, and they used a lot of galvanized steel pipes. Eventually somebody did some additions and upgrades in the basement - adding a bathroom, moving the laundry, and something else I feel like I’m forgetting. The newer pipes were all done using copper and the fittings connecting the two are a third metal yet, I think they’re brass. I’m worried that I’ll need to replace all of the galvanized steel, which could be an issue since the pipes coming into the house are something I can, or maybe even should, change out until after the main shutoff valve. Regardless, I have some consultations to get someday down the road.

I believe brass is the correct way to do it in that case as it doesn't react with steel or copper.

Yesterday at work, I had to wash my hands before returning to work from break. As I'm standing at the sink in the women's room, an older lady walks in, looks at me as I'm at the sink, and asks "am I in the wrong room?"
Didn't realize I had to be 36-24-36 and 5'3" to meet your definition of womanhood, lady.

Customers. Ugh.

If it doesn't look like this, you should get a plumber to replace the fitting

It has a gasket that keeps the two different metals from contacting each other.

Short for "Disney changed and I don't like it and if they keep it up, they just lost a customer!"

I'm quite confident Disney has done the math and that the risk of losing a handful of customers like this guy isn't much of a hit. On that note, I will never understand some adults' obsession with Disney. You couldn't pay me to vacation there, or anywhere near Orlando for that matter.

Cmon guys, don't you feel for him a little? He said the wokeness has ruined the jungle cruise skipper's "gloriously entertaining puns"!

I am still trying to figure out what an "inclusive haircut" is or whatever. And the poor guy had to see tattoos!

I like how he wants politics out of his theme parks but makes sure to tell us who he is ;^)

I've worked enough in retail enough to know if I received $1 for every time someone said "you just lost a customer," I could retire comfortably.

Yeah that is why boycotts never work. There is always someone to replace you. And sooner or later you will go back.

I remember a few very effective boycotts where there were no replacements.
When I was a kid we lived in England and I went to school on an AF Base. The food was hideous. Undercooked or so overcooked it didn't hold shape. The upper grades all boycotted the hot lunch. I think one kid bought lunch in the whole week. Nothing like a bunch of outraged teens and preteens. They fixed it.

On the other hand I am still boycotting the local dairy for the last 10 yrs with probably no effect. The owner said, on local radio, that we shouldn't fund the schools. If we underfunded enough people would leave and there would be less students to pay for. We ended up losing State funding, had multiple schools end up on State warning. The 4500-5000$ a year I spent on milk, ice cream, produce has not gone back there. Most of the blow ins and those who value education also avoid it. He is very well connected so we make no difference. The area is full of little fiefdoms and the local serfs are easily lead. The serfs still go to the dairy.

Ditto. Housing in the Cities is crazy right now.

Edit: JEEBUS FUCK. Zillow says my house is worth $353,000. Up from $313,000 in farking October. That's 13% in six months. A very small part of me wishes I could dump this thing, bank the cash, and wait for the correction.

Up another 10k in a week.

I just checked my house, and that site says $293k. I paid $255k 18 months ago, and a house comparable to mine, though clearly updated recently when looking at the picks, was listed at $320k and sold a couple weeks ago. When the sale finalizes I’m checking county tax records to see the actual sale price. Based upon everything we’ve been seeing in this market, $350k wouldn’t really surprise me.
