Games for the week of 1/4 - 1/7/10.

Re: Games for the week of 1/4 - 1/7/10.

Becker leads Fitchburg State 1-0 through 1 period

Bobby Vorse is in net for Fitchburg, can't tell who's in net for Becker (no announcers).

They're also not pointing the camera at the scoreboard, so I don't know the SOG either (I think Fitchburg has the advantage though).

Re: Games for the week of 1/4 - 1/7/10.

2nd period underway @ NEC still 2-0 NEC over Salem
SOG's were 9-9 after 1

Re: Games for the week of 1/4 - 1/7/10.

SSC with a 5x3 and gets one back
MacInnis (??,??) 5:40

Salem only gets one on the 2 PP's still 2-1 NEC

Edit on the goalies -- Avione is in net. looks like he switched to #1. Only way to tell is he is off handed and Ridgeway is not.

NEC with their own 5x3 and get 2 goals
Els (Turner,Alengaard)
Turner (alengaard, Leponen) 18:15
4-1 NEC And that's how the period ends

Becker leads Fitchburg State 3-1 through 2 periods

I think #1 (Tom Natoli) is in net for Becker. It's pretty hard to tell, considering the lack of a good view from the camera and the lack of announcers.

They still aren't showing the scoreboard, so I still don't know the SOG for either team.

I thought this would be an easy game for Fitchburg, except it hasn't been. Not even close. It doesn't look like they've shaken off the Christmas break rust / recovered from the 8-0 beating they received from Amherst on Saturday.

Re: Games for the week of 1/4 - 1/7/10.

I also forgot to mention. Fitchburg State is really good at comebacks.

Fitchburg State defeated Becker 7-3, thanks to 6 goals in the third period.

Upon looking at the box score. SOG was 47-31 Fitchburg. Despite what I thought I saw earlier, Tom Nisoli was never in net for Becker. Tony Stoehr was in net for the first 50 minutes, and was sacked after allowing his sixth goal. Jake Rosenthal was in net for the last 10 minutes.

Fitchburg improves to 6/7-3-1 on the season, and will play next at New England College on Tuesday the 12th. Becker falls to 5-7-1 and will play D-II Assumption next on Saturday night.

Salem 2 Tellier (Lampson) 52:21
NEC 5 El (ENG) 59:20

And that's the ballgame. I would think that SSC's chances at an NCAA bid are slim and none.

Re: Games for the week of 1/4 - 1/7/10.

4-3 Bowdoin, Trade Goals MacCormick made it 4-2, Williams SHG makes it 4-3 with 9 minites remaining!!

Curry ties it up with another SHG. Kamrass from kaneshiro!! 2:30 left in regulation

I think at this point we can drop the slim...sorry Joe, we were hoping your team would make it.

It's tough when it's your kid on the DL and the team is losing. I just hope he's healthy enough to keep the #1 senior student-athlete GPA and get a chance to play on senior day. If he never plays another competitive game, it's been a good, fun run since he first took the ice 20 years ago. Lots of good memories.
