Corry goes off for tripping...Cadets on the PP...Here is where I wish the Cards had Musselwhite :D

Re: Games for the week of 1/4 - 1/7/10.

Re: Games for the week of 1/4 - 1/7/10.

Just headed home from norwich. Great game for the cadets. They were definitely the better team on the ice tonight. The cardinals seemed slow and just couldnt get anything going. Passes got intercepted, and whenever they did get a good play in, klinger shut them down. Good job norwich. Well- deserved win.

I was right along that goal line and had a clear view of that goal. Williams deflected it up, and it bounced off the wick player's chest and into the goal. Good call by the refs.

Thanks for reporting it that way. From my end of the rink I couldn't see a thing. I can't believe Norwich put 4 goals in on Williams. Have to say that Thomas' last goal was a gem.

BTW Emery didn't shake hands :D (That's a joke, folks - he walked across the ice and shook McShane's hand. That's what he always does is shakes the opposing coach's hand only. Ususally McShane goes through the line, but he followed Emery's lead.)

Thanks Cards rule the Burgh, what a great game, lots of movement up and down the ice the first period. After Emery took his time out in the second, the Cards for-checked quite a bit, but couldn't put the shot on net, at least where Klinger wasn't. Awesome game, as good as a match up that the NCAA's Div III Semis could ever provide. Both teams played well, with heart and determination, as if it was the finals. I have a feeling we might see the Cards again down the road. Good luck to both teams on a tough road schedule for the next week or so. That will be the deciding factor as to who moves up or down in the rankings next week. And Kyle Thomas, wow, you are beginning to look like Nikita, the Moscow Magician with some nice stick work many times during the game, congrats on the hat trick!:) LeeVT mentioned Blake Forkey as looking like the Magician during the post game talk, I think he might have meant Thomas, although Forkey is quite impressive himself. Norwich has a deep offensive and defensive team, I am feeling very positive for post season play. Lake Placid...hmmmm.;)

Not to take away from who said this to me earlier, but as CardsFan91 said, Id love to see an Oswego/Norwich matchup.....and after Plattsburgh wins the SUNYAC title and Oswego needs an at-large bid it could happen :p Klinger wasn't spectacular, only because he was in posistion and didn't have to be. Great game even minus the score.

Re: Games for the week of 1/4 - 1/7/10.

Norwich is scary...they've paid their dues and now its paying dividends. I'm not at all surprised or saddened by this outcome. The Cadets are the real deal and I don't want to jinx it, but I think I'll be seeing them in Lake Placid

Re: Games for the week of 1/4 - 1/7/10.

As I said before, the Cadets look just great in the Berg. We will see how they fair on the road. If this young team can take this show on the road, then take notice.

You are correct, Charlie. The Maine trip has always been a bugaboo for NU. Two points would be a good outcome - more than two would be spectacular.

Re: Games for the week of 1/4 - 1/7/10.

Tonight's games

Rhode Island at Univ. New England 4:00PM (No count)
Salem State at New England 7:00 pm PPV Fasthockey.com 6.99
Curry at Bowdoin 7:00 pm
Becker at Fitchburg State 7:00 pm FreeTV MASCAC-TV

Salem needs a win to keep their precarious NCAA hopes alive. Curry needs to bounce back from the Times-Argus and Fitchburg should have an easy time against Becker.

See you @ 7 with remote reports from NEC.

Underway @ NEC
Good picture -- native sound. See the PxP guy talking into the mike. Guess he does not know he's talking to himself.... :)

Looks like Avione in net for Salem - can't tell for NEC

Re: Games for the week of 1/4 - 1/7/10.

Well that was a familiar goal....

NEC wins the faceoff and pots one in from the point. Muse (Turner,Lepponin) PPG 6:48
1-0 Pilgrims now about 9:00 gone.

My bad - Ridgeway in net for Salem making his varsity debut.
