I thought that was much better than the last episode. I continued to be disappointed with the Jaime storyline.

Happy Mother Day to everyone in the last 8 years who named their baby Khaleesi

Re: Game of Thrones Season 6: Lions and Wolves and Sand Snakes, oh my!

Season 7 Dany: I am not here to be queen of the ashes.
Season 8 Dany: **** it. Burn them all.

I don't get the hate...

"I thought they were gonna do this, but they did that instead."

Pretty much the same criticism of every episode of the show thus far. Maybe they'll finally get it right with the last one.

Get it right according to whom?
The fans who want things?
And?
Fans don't get to decide endings.
Why can't people enjoy the ride?

I don’t either. It’s why we’re all fat, ugly, poor, and sitting on our couches while the producers are at most one of those.

Fans are dumb. About everything, not just tv shows. I just laugh and point and tell them they’re dumb. It’s a tv show. They didn’t get what they wanted so they have to ***** and make sure the world knows they’re unhappy. “B-b-b-b-but plot holes”. Lololol. Yeah, and? I’m happy and enjoyed the hell out of the last hour and a half while you’re upset and miserable.

This episode was great. One of the best of the series. The best? Probably not. But close.

You can easily be fat and ugly and be a producer. :D

The rest I agree with...its the same with those who scream about Star Wars...."Lucas ruined my movies!"
They aren't yours...they're his.

Schrodinger's Targaryen: Dany's turn was obvious yet completely sudden and unexpected at the same time.

I think it has boiled down to the long lay off between this season and last season, all of the theories and thoughts about how this story line could go, people want it to go, etc. which has led to expectations that are so high they can’t be met.

I thought last night was awesome. Last night was exactly how Dany would act in the book.

This.

The long layoff and all of the hype is hurting how people view these episodes, IMO. So long to theorize, think about how you want it to go, expect it to go, etc. that these expectations aren’t being met, and then theirs disdain for how the episodes play out.

I think this has been a pretty darn good season, really.

They had an effects budget. They spent it.

Otherwise, well.

I agree. It’s why I’ve stayed away from getting lost in all the theories. That goes for nearly every show.

The only show I was ever invested in that much was Who Shot Mr. Burns. I took Maggie, Santa’s Little Helper, Smithers, or himself/accident. I gave my dad the field. Longest shot I’ve ever collected on.

In fairness, Lucas took a great movie, tried to update it 25 years later, and made it worse. Part of being a good artist is knowing when it's done and to leave it alone.

Re: Game of Thrones Season 6: Lions and Wolves and Sand Snakes, oh my!

The moral is don't wait a year an half to deliver a finale. Try to keep "normalcy" (same release schedule, same episode length) and then deliver within the expected format of the show. Otherwise you are changing too many things at once: the rhythm of the show is disturbed and that in itself is off-putting. The fact of finality is itself the big change in the final episodes of a show so you should be fighting to keep as much as possible the same. The final act of Midsummer Night's Dream isn't a downhill slalom race.
