I honestly didn’t think Jaime’s ending was that bad. I read something that helped really put it into frame for me. He’s an addict. He’s associated to Cersei. His addiction killed him.
I suppose we don’t know they’re dead, but I’m pretty comfortable saying that was their send off.
This is a well written piece on the episode.

As for Cersei, well she can perhaps take solace from the poetic symmetry of dying on Mother’s Day after her father, Tywin, died on Father’s Day at the end of Season 4.
Good long tweet thread about styles of storytelling and attempting an explanation at why GoTH seems a bit forced now:

Want to know why Game of Thrones *feels* so different now? Samwell tarly killed more people than the golden company.
I think the issues have more to do with the fact that certain characters are doing total 180's that probably could've been explained better with more time but everything is rushed and forced now. Tyrion becoming a total dumb azz overnight for instance is one. The ho hum demise of the White Walkers and Bran's character arc are big problems. Euron is a hilariously stupid one dimensional character. The drastic balance of power swings between Cersei's army vs Dany's in the last two episodes are mind boggling and make zero sense. Bronn's character is almost certainly done which makes the scene in the episode from 2 weeks ago seem even worse and it was already hilariously bad.I think it has boiled down to the long lay off between this season and last season, all of the theories and thoughts about how this story line could go, people want it to go, etc. which has led to expectations that are so high they can’t be met.
I thought last night was awesome. Last night was exactly how Dany would act in the book.

That is a really good tweet thread. Thanks for posting.
Did Aaron Rodgers appearing in the episode ruin the moment for everybody else, too? I mean, he did get burned alive twice - as two different extras.
I thought not.
I missed him completely. I'd probably have noticed if it was Brady.

Right, I don't blame anyone (actors, directors, anyone associated with this show that's gone on for nearly a decade) for wanting to get on with their lives, even if selfishly it would've been better if they drug out the show for 2 more seasons or whatever to get it right.Benioff and Weiss wanted to be done with GOT so they could work on Confederate and failing that, Star Wars. Thus the rush.
I hears that the actor who plays bronn and Lena heady no longer shoot together- they dated and had a nasty breakup earlier in the series.
My first thought was, Cersei could do better!
Cersei looks about 100 years older than Bronn.

What?
