Fun With Numbers: Pairwise, KRACH, and Otherwise '16-'17

Re: Fun With Numbers: Pairwise, KRACH, and Otherwise '16-'17

Looks like a pretty good tournament. Too bad we've already awarded to trophy to the University of Wisconsin :o

It's also too bad that BC lost all those "world class" players last year...They sure have had some adversity this year actually losing a couple of Hockey (L)east games. :)

Hey say what you want about "Hockey (L)east" but at least we don't have 4 of the 5 worst teams in KRACH! That dubious honor is held by the EasyAC :D

EZAC...Tidier

I mean, with very few exceptions, the east is just one big "mass" of confectionery delight ready to be devoured by a western or "higher" power (whichever you prefer), so differentiating between leagues isn't necessary. :)

Definitely believe this. Otherwise, we won't be able to get WCHA teams to be nice enough to travel out here and finish last in our tourneys (thank you St. Cloud), give Union some fun (thank you Mankato) and give teams in the bottom half of Hockey East signature wins (thank you Minnesota).

The BU announcer did celebrate it like they had won the national championship. That wasn't you was it?

Nice job, EastFan1, at picking a small sample! However if you look at ALL the WCHA vs. East games played this season, the overall record is 21-4-3, and it's not in the East's favor:

Wisconsin ... 4-0-0
Minnesota ...1-1-0
MN-Duluth .. 3-0-1
North Dakota 2-1-1
Ohio State ... 2-0-0
Bemidji State 4-0-0
St. Cloud ..... 2-1-1
MN State ..... 3-1-0
Total: ........ 21-4-3

Fun with numbers indeed! :)

Given thats as close as BU is going to get to a national championship you can understand why he felt that way. Although, given that next year is an Olypic year and all the best players will be on the Olympic squad maybe the east can sneak one out in 18.

Example of an alternative fact: St. Cloud loses to Merrimack, Robert Morris and Vermont but still goes 2-1-1 against eastern teams.

Example of a real fact: WCHA went .500 against Hockey East this year. 1

I wonder what the H2H record is between the WCHA and Hockey East in the NCAA Tournament. Hint: it's not .500.

Re: Fun With Numbers: Pairwise, KRACH, and Otherwise '16-'17

It's not 1.000 or .000 either. 0 for 0 is undefined as a percentage. :)
Did I say this year? No. Most people could figure out that meant all time, but just for you, ALL TIME. :D

Hey you can cherry pick stats all you want but you MIDWESTERN ELITISTS (©2007 TonyTheTiger20 all rights reserved) have a little ways to go to catch up to Eastern women's hockey from before when the NCAA started caring! :D

You're right. The East did much better before the Midwest started playing.
