Fun With Numbers 2018: Pairwise, KRACH, GRaNT, and other mathematical excitement

Re: Fun With Numbers 2018: Pairwise, KRACH, GRaNT, and other mathematical excitement

I don't know what the Gophers do but I would imagine the Badgers fly regardless; that's a haul.
The Gophers and Badgers always bus to play each other. The Gophers always used to bus to Grand Forks. I'm told that the Badgers would splurge for a flight to NoDak from time-to-time, but UW has to also travel to St. Cloud, Bemidji, Mankato, and Duluth. They can't fly everywhere.

For those of you wondering what OSU's sweep did the Pairwise, here's the updated rankings (assuming the rest of today's scores hold):

Read Grant's reasoning. The Alliance teams are eligible for selection, therefore they can't be ignored.

Will they be selected? No, but RPI is listed, too.

Wow. The WCHA just might get 3 teams in, but then one of them would visit Madison presumably.

You'll probably need to drop at least one game to Minnesota to make it happen.

The Pairwise went for a WILD ride with Clarkson and BC's losses... as it stands right now, Clarkson falls to 4th, Colgate jumps to 3rd, and BC jumps to 2nd.

Ohio losing 3-1 to Minnesota state in the second. If it stays like that there will be more shaking and baking.

I have this year's Tournament Predictor ready to go for February 18th but I'm always happy to have some people beta test the new changes before it goes live. If anyone's interested, shoot me an email at grant dot salzano at gmail and I'll send you the spreadsheet.

The Tournament Predictor is this: https://twitter.com/Salzano14/status/961770250034434048
